That article is from 6 weeks ago and it says the number I quoted:

Did it really decrease to 62% within 6 weeks?

Note that Grootvlei and Camden are planned to be shutdown within the next few years and Camden's power output is tiny compared to the big beasts like Majudba, Medupi, Lethabo and Kusile.
Whatever the case you should be using Matimba not Lethabo. Matimba has a constistently high EAF. Lethabos improvement is recent and seemingly not consistent. And at the moment Medupi is highest.

There's similarities, but it's a further improvement on the self-governance side. More like Confederalism, though the Swiss are quite different from what the US version of that was.

@lexity seems to know a lot of detail if he's around.
I think Federalism is how the USA started out.... an attempt to form a non-intrusive form of government.

Which lasted around 80 years or so. After that there is no doubt the United States became the United State.

The Swiss cantons are a decentralized form of governance, and this happens in a Federal system. But it seems they have not managed to maintain true independence i.e. I don't think they have a free market in money.

Money ofc, being the one change in the last millennium which was largely - if not entirely - responsible for doubling life-expectancy, in the West and other nations emulating its laws that were and are still to some - albeit declining - degree protective of privacy of person and property(P4).

So they are independent but I don't think they have an homogenous-enough population to resist central-planning in the most crucial area. Otherwise they by now would surely have rejected, outright, fiat currency.

Thanks

Thought they started as a Confederate - typo?

That's also how South Africa started, hence why we became the Union of South Africa in 1910,

No existing system has according to your outlook though, AFAIK?

There may be one or two who are transitioning, to a much freer money system e.g. Liberland, which has a very Jeffersonian constitution in place.

MIAMI, 18 May 2023 – President Vít Jedlička of Liberland, the first nation to formally adopt Bitcoin as its official currency, has just given a keynote speech at the world’s largest Bitcoin event, Bitcoin Miami. President Jedlička's keynote address took place on the main stage earlier today. In 2015, Liberland was the first nation-state to embrace Bitcoin (BTC) fully, showcasing its commitment to decentralization and financial sovereignty.

Correction - that was a breakaway group

There is more than one view on the breakaway attempt and what led to the war for southern independence.

One is that Lincoln was not anti-slavery. So pro-slavery Northern state leaders, like Lincoln, opposed that move to breakaway.

It was about illegitimately keeping the union together. The southern breakaway attempt should have been honored, regardless of your thoughts on slavery.

They successfully made it about slavery. Just like the ANC has held on to illegitimate political power, in SA, by successfully making it(everything) about racism.

BUT BUT BUT Medupi and Kusile are always down so they don't actually have a big power output

If it hasn't been clear in the past, let me say again, they don't care about voters. It doesn't matter how many voters they lose or piss off. 100% of south africa can vote against anc, and anc will still remain in power. ANC will NEVER hand over power. Its never going to happen, ever. Until jesus comes and all that. The day they lose is the day SA and the world discovers there is no democracy here, just like places china, russia, india, brazil etc all with questionable non existent 'democracy' pretending to be democracy with 'voting' (oh look at that, those are our brics partners, huh, merely a coincidence no doubt, we still get to vote, nothing to see here).

Calm down, it will happen. The ANC will loose its majority in this country. It might not be next year (Very likely it is) but it will happen and SA will move towards a coalition government. The ANC cannot stop this change, it is inevitable.

Bit of a coincidence though that it involved the slave states.
Anyway, I still see the idea of Confederalism as an improvement on Federalism which is not a free system in the US for example.

Confederalism is a system of organisation in which there is a union of states with each member state retaining some independent control over both internal and external affairs. For international purposes there are separate states rather than just one state.

I'll leave it there
(Unless..)

True - especially Kusile which is only producing power from one unit - three others are down until the end Nov. 2023 and the other two are still coming online.
Actually if that unit is up and running, it technically means the EAF could be higher. Remember EAF has nothing to do with actual output, only availability.

But I've seen Eskom's EAF for Koeberg stuck at 48 or 49% even though we know that's because one unit is down which means the other unit is producing the max. amount of power.
