Norwood area power failure, looks very wide. A few hours at best I think.
 
Aand we're back... but I smell a rat, the times of day involved etc. and far too short for this kind of thing.
Off at almost 7pm exactly, on at almost 9pm exactly.
It's remained largely colder than expected here.

Demand on Wednesday 32.3GW, demand on Thursday 28.1GW, a 4200MW difference, so I'm not going to bother with the numbers today as the MLR numbers are missing as if Eskom forget there was no loadshitting on Thursday or something:

This shows how resources were used to build-up the demand over the past 7 days, and it includes both generation and demand side resources that Eskom has contracts with.

System hourly demand and available capacity - Eskom Data Portal

Hourly demand is compared against available capacity, to indicate the amount of surplus/shortfall there was. Available capacity must be matched with the total RSA contracted demand.

Okay so it looks like technically we don't need shedding now and at most stage 2 at night
