There are warnings on the gas heaters that it can be poisonous in a small closed room. There's a white powdery substance that builds up at the top of the unit after long usage.
Personally - just breathe through my nose more :- )
I'm no youngster either... used to use coal, then anthracite when polution first became a worry, then electric, and since gas for at least 15 years. Some gas cooking too but we're microwave-lazy.I grew up on a farm pre Electricity era.... yes I am old but also we only got power late 1980's / early 1990's
We used Gas for cooking, heating and refrigeration.

As long as you keep the room ventilated you are ok from Carbon monoxide poisoning
I've smelt the heater sometimes, then just fan the room for a minute or two with passage door open. Seems to do enough.

That's for sure, drifting between stage 1 and 6+ for weeks now. Very convincing..Not good, but lately who knows with them
They will put their big industrial consumers on Stage 4 or whatever loadshedding to avoid anything higher than Stage 6 if at all possible.
