  • South Africa now has a draft plan for electricity rationing that goes well beyond Stage 8, including what would amount to Stage 16.

BUT...... it is said that extreme Leftists want to force the world into such power restrictions, to gain individual control. That's as close as you'll come to facts about this subject.

The current rotational load shedding conprises 16 zones with 2 hour slots in a 32 hour cycle. The formula of 1000MW per stage inducates that there is significant infrastructure not counted towards load shedding (16,000MW vs 25,000MW).

The present system has a mathematical limit of Stage 16, but practically speaking anything above Stage 8 becomes a diminishing spiral, as geysers, fridges and battery chargers kick on as soon as power resumes (4 hours off and 4 hours on).

we saw that coming through pretty hectically at stage 6.

In other news, all data on dataportal is now out of date, so we are truly thumbsucking now...
 
Visited a friend earlier that has had zero load shedding so far since they on the same grid as Consol glass :(

Yeah, its infuriating... I have one just out east'ish side, she hasn't had loadshedding since pre rona, something about some telkom/network/coms or something that needs to be up 100% of time or the universe blows up, cats start raining from the skies etc etc. I call bs and it must be a cadre living in area /shrug
 
So last night at 3pm (1 hour into a loadshedding) looks like we had a wall jumper... Alarm got set off since we got beams outside, and we got solar so everything was fully charged and running, once deactivated the alarm armed response came and we went outside to check the property (smart move? maybe not but was 2 of us and armed response guy at gate)... 15 minutes after alarm was disarmed we heard our neighbours dogs go crazy like ape crazy and they only go like that when they hear sirens (there were none) so pretty sure there was someone taking advantage of loadshedding trying to steal some stuff out peoples gardens... Scary stuff :(...
