Maybe....
Just maybe something weird and new needed, pushed into it by public pressure.

In this all-are-affected emergency create a specific monitoring (and maybe action) body consisting of only one member per each party with a seat / seats in parliament.
So NOT volume-representative, that's not working in this country; and NOT like a common coalition, think of Italy... but all minorities involved and little or less chance of successful power-abuse coalitions forming.

Pipe dream?
The bar is so low, that many things could be less damaging.

The trouble is that all of those things, until you address the root of the problem, exist on the same trajectory.

To me the root of the problem is the reversion to economic central-planning.
p.s. if you are not familiar with that term... because it has a specific meaning historically, and politically, it refers to economies that are controlled from the top down.

We have seen that this caused the failures in all Collectivist regimes around the world. And we have the formula to fix broken or failing economies. Not everyone is ready to implement that formula, however.

Which brings us back to FoA and secession.

So, sooner rather than later, Poof! No electricity for a few days.

Hey, at least you will have a new substation again.
They have been promising a new sub station since 2019, like they were promising a new school since 2013.

Soooo..

What do we call this new 10 hour slots?

They seem to become more frequant where I stay.
Dying infrastructure, remember JHB isn't Durban and with the constant infighting for Mayorship nothing gets done, so we don't get exemptions for dying infrastructure, we don't get anything done, money is wasted as constant vandalism of parts is costing City power a lot.
Certain areas that are constantly down should just remain as such, especially if it's related to overloads, the cable theft excuse needs to be jacked up.

We too run off old infrastructure here on the coast and lately I've been noticing inverter readings up to 25xV. Its hardly ever in the 23xV range anymore. Always higher.

Last night I was gaming and for the first time my PC rebooted on the switch-over.

Now I'm getting worried. Just last month we had to replace a fridge.

What voltage should really be cause for concern?

Whenever I see claims, promises and threats penned by 'StaffWriter'....

That is a sign of an experimental, to put it politely, article if ever I saw one.

p.s. wouldn't surprise me if it was designed to gauge a reaction to policy that some prefer but feel they can't simply come out and advocate for it openly.
News24 is also running with it...

Either way; deeper levels of LS planned, with the ridiculous political attempt to disguise that.

If you do a search on 'National Rationalised Specifications (NRS) Association of South Africa' you don't get a website, you get a lot of media articles many which are sharing slight variations in the headline and preamble. Some even share the leading picture.

Do a search. There is no authoritative website by that name.

Bit odd.

International left wing again IMO, they have much media control. Keep their agenda going even when their ungrateful anc recipients choose to rather save the economy than listen to their end-of-world climate ramblings..

It's the ANC way. They're still on track to deliver on their 1994 election promise of 4 RDP houses in a million years.

I was just going to say... the clue is probably in the term 'voluntary' organization.

Decisions being made behind the scenes, in private, that concern citizens.

Sounds a bit like Bilderberg Group, and Chatham House rules, no?

p.s. Or a tax-collectors' union that is off-limits to tax-payers and other riff-raff.
