Personally not gonna try guess what this all means further

Never a boring moment, thanks Eskom anc

Mecer one I got one that was easily available, after waiting, 2021 and 2022 inverters weren't easy to get

I wonder if you can connect it to Home Assistant - then you can just get notifications to your phone when grid dies.

I use my Explora to check outages, logs when it last rebooted.
(For those of us too poor for solar :()

I have my HA setup that way. Then I got bored and used the WhatsApp integration. Will post a pic now of what it looks like

Interesting. My HA is setup with a PI connected to the inverter and all the inverter data is fed into. DB so I can make pretty graphs I rarely look at.

Grid frequency shows 0 when it hasn't synced with the inverter.

Why not have HA just send you a notification with that info? - that's how I have it so I don't need to look at HA or anything. Just get a notification "Grid has taken a ****" - then I know, its dead "Oh look, grid is back - for now"

I used that before, but I found the connectivity a bit scheit. The WhatsApp integration works better for me.

This morning was a bit weird (zone 11 in CT), with power off from 4am to 5am (stage 6), then on from 5am to 6am (stage 3), then off from 6am to 8am (stage 3).

Perhaps a harbinger of things to come, when stages 7-9 are imposed for short periods, before dropping back to lower stages at other times.

It looks like load shedding was suspended overnight for a brief period?
We were supposed to go off at 4am, but only went off at 5am. When I checked loadshedding.eskom.co.za at 04h45 it showed "no loadshedding". After we went off at 5am I checked again and it showed "Stage 4 loadshedding".

Zone 8 CT was supposed to be off from 10pm to 2am last night but stayed on.

God I do not miss this country. Not a single traffic light worked on the way back home from the airport. Took nearly 2x as along as it should have. Arrive home to darkness, batteries are dead because earth tripped yesterday and the sun is taking a vacation... I think I should just go back to the airport

I'm currently in Porto, Portugal, we can open some wine and enjoy electricity

Zone 5 CT was 2am-4am but came on again after 3am. Had missed 4 hour and 2 hour slots over the last week as well. Very unusual for me, first year I've experienced skipped slots, they're usually bang on/off for every one.

Welcome back to the promise land. Where were you, anyway?
