Lotto is buying into the chance of changing your life forever.
You aint going to win but whats R10 a week?A loaf of bread,and no one is forcing the poor to play the lotto.I'm sure they would figure out after the first ten draws that their odds are very slim.

My take on lotto/powerball;

If you don't play, you have 0% chance of winning. BUT, when you purchase 1 ticket @ R2.50 or R3.50 you increase your chances an infinite amount times. But buying a second ticket only increase your chances marginally (compared to an infinite number). And lets face it, unless you 'know' what the number are going to be (which you wont) it's down to luck, and if you're going to be lucky, you'll be lucky enough to do it with one ticket.

So I say, take the plunge and pay the R3.50...it might just be your day

Dude i do not believe for one second the more you buy the better chance you have, maybe in theory it works but you could spend 1 million rand and an oke who bought a R3.50 ticket can win it. I bought 35 bucks worth today, first time i have played in years

R35.00 for a chance to win millions is not bad, granted i will lose but hey just maybe i scoop the pool .

So is gambling at casino's, smoking could be in the same bracket. Many things in life are idiotic but yet humans still do em. So i reckon if someone wants to take a stab at 70 million so what. The cost of my ticket today was a packet of 30 cigi's. What can i win with cigi's?

not true, there are 24,435,180 possible combinations for the powerball, so at 3.50 per line it would cost just over R85million
