That "585watt" can only supply around 400watts continuous. That's why you should always research power supplies.

Why would you need a 850W PSU unless you intend doing SLI (maybe). gtx970 TDP will not exceed 170W OC (so for x2 340W), 3770K OC @4.6GHz 204W. So for a sinlge OC'ed GPU & CPU you are looking at 374W, MB/HDD/SSD won't add much to that so 750W is plenty, you can even SLI with it.

Superflower is new to SA and not that well known here but overseas they are highly rated and the benchmarks/reviews are really good. I've got the 450W version with my i5 build, it's quiet and runs very cool (I doubt there's a difference between the intake&exhaust temps). Also 5yr warranty.

For some reason my 850 Silver certified is giving me problems, It came with a 6pin to 4xSata cable and it seems to be failing on that rail, it use to work with all 4 drives now when i connect the fourth it BSoD and i can hear the drive clicking.

It sounds faulty to me and nothing to do with it's rated capacity. Which make & model PSU do you have?

It's still a Corsair which means 10 times better than what you're using now.

I would use it for my PC if that's what you want to know.
