Ag you know....

I do not deal directly with "customers" here...

Too straightforward with them...just sit and battle with the disgustingly dirty filthy crap I have to fix for them.
Bunch of pigs.

But hey...not so many Cockroaches anymore. They seem to be learning.

Mainly dust.

And I spoke a while ago about the lack of roaches....mmmm

I remember when I started here around 2002....
Back 2007...houses getting cleaner...

Cockroaches less??? Seems to be.

Only dust lately. No roaches. Good sign.

Prasa head engineer suspended

Johannesburg - Less than 48 hours after Prasa fired CEO Lucky Montana, its head engineer, Daniel Mthimkhulu, has been suspended following an investigation into his qualifications.

"I can confirm that he has been suspended after an investigation surrounding his actual qualifications," Passenger Rail Agency of SA (Prasa) spokesperson Sipho Sithole told News24.

"Now there is a formal disciplinary inquiry... because he has failed to produce the academic qualifications that he claimed he had."

Mthimkhulu has been suspended with immediate effect.

Last week, Netwerk24 reported that Mthimkhulu was not officially registered with the profession’s statutory body.

And this is the tip of the ice berg.. Go to every engineering company in SA and see what % of engineers have engineering degrees. I'd guess it's 30-40% ! Most companies, large internationals too hire technologists as engineers, kinda why I stopped bothering being an engineer

Prasa head engineer suspended

Johannesburg - Less than 48 hours after Prasa fired CEO Lucky Montana, its head engineer, Daniel Mthimkhulu, has been suspended following an investigation into his qualifications.

Mthimkhulu has been suspended with immediate effect.

Last week, Netwerk24 reported that Mthimkhulu was not officially registered with the profession’s statutory body.

In 2006, the Engineering Council of South Africa (Ecsa) rejected Dr Daniel Mtimkhulu’s application to register with it, according to the report.

On Thursday, Prasa announced that it had resolved on Wednesday that Montana would not have to work the remainder of his notice period, which started on June 1, until December.

Until the board had found a suitable replacement, Prasa COO and Autopax acting CEO Nathi Khena would step into the role.

Prasa has faced questions over the purchase of new diesel locomotives from Spain, and over a R51bn tender for the purchase of 600 trains for its fleet renewal programme.

The agency had reportedly ignored warnings from engineers that the 13 Afro 4000 locomotives, imported from Spain for R600m, were too high for local railways and could damage overhead cables.

On July 6, Montana and Mthimkhulu denied this.

“We meet the safety standards," Montana said at the time.

"We have bought one of the best locomotives in the world and we are not even apologetic about that."

Prasa bought 20 diesel Afro 4 000 locomotives, plus another 50 hybrid ones, for a total of R3.5bn.

Montana was supposed to address media on Friday on the reasons for his dismissal, but then said was asked by government to hold off on this while it deliberated over the weekend.

Prasa was also meant to hold a press briefing on Frida,y but cancelled it at the last minute.

Sithole had said that after consultation with Transport Minister Dipuo Peters and the board, it was decided that the statement issued on Thursday was sufficient.

Not true in my field of Civil and Mining engineering experience. Is this the case in Electrical/Mechanical field?

If technologist get the job done for large internationals & they are happy with the results what's the problem? Do you remember back in the day people with no varsity education registering based purely on years of experience?

That's still the case in the UK. The co-inventor of the CAT scan machine wasn't a uni graduate.

He is registered with ECSA as a Technologist, just not as an engineer so to say he is NOT registered with ECSA is untrue.

> Ecsa told Beeld that Mtimkulu was not registered with it.

ECSA say he isn't registered with them as an Engineer or Technologist. Thats how I understand it.

EDIT: Forgot a word.

Correct, as far as I know he has a diploma, which cannot even qualify him as a technologist, at best he can be a lab technician.

Resigned.
The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) has confirmed its head of engineering Daniel Mtimkulu has resigned.

Mtimkulu was charged with gross dishonesty and fraudulent misrepresentation relating to his qualifications.

He’s failed to produce the engineering and PhD qualifications, which he’s claimed to possess.

Prasa’s Sipho Sithole says at this stage they have not accepted his resignation.

“He was due to appear in front of a formal disciplinary process where he was going to answer to those charges. We had already opened a criminal case of fraud on 24 July and we have now sought legal advice because we cannot just say we accept the resignation.”

Prasa 'engineer' charged with fraud, uttering

Johannesburg - Prasa's head of engineering services Daniel Mthimkhulu appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's court on Wednesday on a charge of fraud and uttering relating to his qualification, the National Prosecuting Authority in Gauteng said.

Uttering is the crime of using a forged document and is usually associated with the circulation of fake bank notes.

He was released on R20 000 bail and has to return to court on August 25, NPA Gauteng spokesperson Phindi Louw told News24.
