Who said anybody has to behave in a civil way when it comes to religion? Does everyone have to treat something as sacred just because other people believe it is so?

One would think that if God is real, he doesnt really need someone like you standing up for him. Unless he is impotent. Also, I notice the same people who take offence to their imaginary friend getting talked about are generally the same people who mock the locals about believing in the tokolosh and ancestors. The hypocrisy is absurd aint it?

I love how you frame yourself and beliefs as the poor persecuted victim, while persecuting atheists. You would think after having thousands of years of being in charge and being able to persecute and kill non-christians... you would think the victim card is a bit lame. Atheists have an opinion, sometimes a strong passionate one, however, no atheist is going to kill you in the name of no God

1. How does the quality of life differs between - say an Christian and Atheist if any while alive ??
If atheist are correct - then basically we live our lives as we do, some poor,some rich,happy, sad. And when we die it all ends.
If Christians are correct - then the same as above except there are an afterlife. And in the afterlife you'll be judged for being an believer or non believer right ??

Now heres the thing - as a (atheist)non believer you basically gain very little in live apart from not spending X amount of time praying, visiting church, I'm sure you can add more etc.
But as an believer - If you are correct - then you gain the afterlife and the non believers will go to hell . And everybody will be judged, whether christian,muslim,atheist.

Maybe thats why so many people are religious - not because of logic but rather that they have little to lose and everything to gain by believing.

It makes people dumber and lowers the basic human rights in a country, there appears to be a strong corrilation between the more fked up a country is, the more religious it is. Strangely the most atheist countries in the world (where atheism is not forced), are the happiest and healthiest countries. Go figure

a lot of people who follow hivemind don't ask too many questions, and when asked "why" merely regurgitate a prescribed point of view.
i'm not hugely against theists who argue their point of view in a logical manner.
i am against theists (and people in general) who take an indefensible stance using parrot-talk and then put their fingers in their ears.

i could say that atheists care about the truth, but that would just be phrony-baiting.

Yesterday listened to how ex Minister Pik Botha was saved from being on the Lockerby plane, by a call from a Pastor that dreamt of the disaster and warned his secretary, who made changes. This was told by Pik himself. How do you explain that?
Pik was on his way to New York to sign the peace agreement at the UN to end the Swapo war and bring Namibia to independence. Without that there might still have been a war raging. ANC would not have been unbanned, Mandela not freed. South Africa not having free elections etc.
That is intervention.

Same sex marraige is not very natural you know and is not an issue here. You cannot lay every social issue in the hands of religion. The countries where religion are banned or were banned had and still have the same issues.
