I would like to see a state where only atheists live. Then we can compare. Stop being jealous of others and progressing the emotion of feeling self-pity.
What do atheists really believe in? It is easy to judge 6000+ years of religion and advocate that a non-believer would have avoided all the issues.
Describe to me a state in which only atheists are tolerated. What would their values and prosperity vision be? What would be the norms and standards?

A state of only atheists? Might be a bit tricky, seeing that freedom from religion also implies freedom of religion. That being said, Sweden is often cited as the most atheist country in the world, and they seem to be doing quite well.

The Dominee said he had a problem with certain generalized prayers that to his opinion does not have any merit.
The interpretation that has been send out by the media and this forum is that no prayer works.
He used very specific examples, which was not really understood. He is partially right and partially wrong.
His example was that a couple of persons he knew prayed for save journeys and they were killed on route. His opinion is that they should have prayed for an awake mind and awareness rather.
The issue is that neither or either would have made a difference. If it is the Lord’s will then it would be.
Jesus also asked his Farther to rather let the cup pass him by, but if it is His will then so be it. Even the Son of God had emotions and fear. The terror and torture that awaited Him was already known and because he had human feeling and fear it was terrifying. But it had to be.
Christianity was persecuted after the Pentecostal blessing, by both atheists and Judaism which were fierce in their persecution. Only when Saul was confronted by the Living God himself on the road to Damascus, was the person known now as Paul reborn. This person stoned Christians personally and then became one of the most reverent Apostles ever.
Although the Christians were persecuted in the most inhuman manner, the faith survived. 12 Apostles and the Son of God was a small beginning. One apostle betrayed the Son of God to men. That can be seen as the typical Atheist and anti Christ. A minority but always a thorn in the flesh. Paul took the place of Judas afterwards.
The Apostle Peter was burned upside down on a cross. A symbol that became the so called peace symbol and that of the Anti Christ. How many of you Atheists would be willing to die like that for what you believe in?
I am not going to debate this further. It won’t change anybody’s believe or opinion.

I missed the part where you demonstrated where the concept of same sex marriage being wrong came from a source other than religion. Please provide it.

Also I didn't realise we had changed the definition of 'natural' to "you can bring a new human being into the world this way". I must have missed the memo because I thought the definition of natural was "present in or produced by nature". Sorry dude but perhaps you need to look up the definition of the word 'natural' before you use it again.

EDIT: same sex procreation I agree. Homosexuality however is another matter. Mammals frequently engage in that. Perfectly natural.

I have to lie to my family to prevent tensions rising in our relationships resulting from their belief that I am evil and am destined to burn. This in turn causes me emotional pain because I don't like to withhold the truth from people.

There you go a perfect example of how religion effects me personally. There are more but I think one is enough and it is a deeply personal one.

I find it quite funny that people with tunnel vision can never see the walls of the tunnel, even when they turn their heads. There are far too many people like this Telesphore in the world. Happy to paint pretty colours on the walls of their tunnel vision, but then in the same breath pretend that those same walls dont exist.

Open your mind and your vision and still be religious by all means. Everyone is entitled to their view, but for the sake of our species, at least ensure that your standpoint is based on information. Dont paint a window with a pretty scene to suite your view. Bash the wall down and make sure that the view you have of your world is the true one, even if the picture isn't pretty. It takes courage to break down walls. But just as in south africa, our high walls may protect us from the bad people outside, but they also prevent us from meeting the good people. I must admit, I find it worrying that you use the phrase equal sexes. Whether it was an intentional or subliminal choice to use that word. It does show your predisposition towards the different genders. The correct word would have been 'same'. Your prejudice shines through, and it makes "my own, and billions of other individual's stomachs turn'.
