Hmmm... after 2008?
between 1 Jan 2008 and 31 Jan 2008?![]()
I've loaded a 500Meg data bundle at 11h00 this morning and i am still waiting for sms confirmation/activation. I don't want to connect with my VC ppaid sim if i am not sure whether i am on bundle or on OOBD price.
This is my first VC data bundle and from what i see here, MTN is lightyears ahead of VC regarding data bundle activation, but they only have GPRS in our area while VC is on EDGE.
So v3g can you maybe give help on this. I've PM'ed my details.

I'm Sorry i did't noticed this is the contract data bundle thread!!
Did you load the bundle on a prepaid SIM?
In case you haven't put your question in another thread, CellBel, here's what I'd do.
If your SIM is a regular phone, dial *111# and respond 1 then 7 to get your data bundle balance. This is not charged or deducted.
If your SIM is in your data card (E220 or E620), load gingg's E620 Tool and do the same.
Or, register on vodacom4me.co.za and check your data bundle balance there (using a different network connection ... if you have internet access at work, for example).
This very afternoon I did a recharge from standard bank (I only ever charge amounts I am going to convert to data immediately - that way I have R0 airtime and no risk of paying OOB rates) - and I got the recharge SMS before the standard bank online banking screen had finishing loading - less than half a second. Then I bought the data bundle on vodacom4me, and it was immediately active according to the methods I've listed above, but I still haven't seen an SMS confirming that.
I would like to know how you purchased it - through v4me, sms, or *111#. Only v4me and sms will give you a notification. I think the best method is to use *111# which will tell you immediately if it was successful and to then check the bundle balance to be sure.I've loaded a 500Meg data bundle at 11h00 this morning and i am still waiting for sms confirmation/activation. *111# doesn't usually work for me (perhaps because I buy my bundles at / near month end) - comes with "error occurred please try again later" even after several attempts. Sending an sms to 100 works perfectly.
What message do i type in to sms to 100?

Rather have a look at v3g's sticky FAQ thread - the info is all there...
Well, if it has to be implemented on both at the same time it will never happen or only happen once both ppdb and cdb runs on the same system (which might be never). It has to happen with one or the other first and ppdb is the natural choice. Thanks Vodacom! That is really awesome.
Now why not shake up the CDB vs. PPDB battle again and implement data roll over on PPDB only(Just kidding)
But we all would love to see data bundle roll over.![]()
There's some clues to be found. Why?
Only from 75MB and it costs 88 bucksYou haven't been paying attention have you? - IOW smaller PPDBs were released a while back.
Yes, but that is not the point. If it was only about what is small enough for me they wouldn't need to have even a 75MB bundle, in fact they could revert to only selling 2GB bundles. But for some reason they are not and 5MB and 20MB bundles are good enough for contract customers. There are many people spending R40 or R10 where they could only be spending R28 or R9.25. Or perhaps Vodacom knows this and want more out of the MXit folks and the like.Surely the 75MB PPDB is small enough for you and more cost-effective than the 20MB CDB and the 5MB CDB?
