I assume you did click on the modify services tab. I just had a look again and they are further down the page - but as I said, there are no prices up yet.
Did so - nothing other than create mailbox, change diverts etc - its a very short page with 6 options, none remotely close to the AdHoc bundles...?

When I hover the mouse over MY ACCOUNT, I get these options below:
my details account info services puk query change my password de-register

Selecting services, you can change your account options (clip, clir, video telephony etc etc) and also add bundles or unselect them - this was brought over from the vodacomsp site where I was also registered. You must be a contract subscriber to get these i think.

Right, so I went and logged in again under another number and I see the Adhoc stuff as was mentioned by ADSL3G. So now my question is, is this maybe SP related? Do some SP's allow you to manage stuff for yourself and others not?
Doesn't this count as discrimination and shouldn't all users be able to have the same functionality?? Vodacom3G???

I'm with VodacomSP - the only others I know are Autopage and Nashua - Teljoy work via VodacomSP as well.

The contract where I DO see the info is with VSP, the one where I don't is with Smartcom.
So my previous question to V3G stands - discrimination?? Please can it be addressed because when you have to phone the SP to change things they don't necessarily get it right...
Thanks

I'll get a formal reply on this but the services you receive are determined by the Service Provider, not Vodacom and I suspect it's the same with the WEB-based services.

You guys got my hopes up... i thought the pre-paid bundles had been released - but it appears that this is simply an online contract bundle management system :(

3G Adhoc Tariffs

The vodacom website, under 3G tariffs is showing:

3G Adhoc (once-off) Data Bundles for Contract subscribers:
R 499.00 1GB
R 998.00 2GB
R 1,497.00 3GB
R 2,495.00 5GB
R 4,990.00 10GB

But what exactly does adhoc mean - does it mean you add it once and it runs for that month - but then at the end of the month any unused MBs disappear (that is the more likely in my view) --- or do you get to use your GBs over many months until they run out and then add another one (unlikely in my view, since the adhoc prices are less than the monthly contract prices!!)

ok - i think i answered my own question, the Conditions do say:
- No carry over of bundled bytes to the next month.

Clearly the Pre-Paid Data Bundles were not released on the 1st Oct as hoped - so what is the new ETA? vodacom3g? :D
(Pleeeez i'm running out of airtime fast!!)

Yeah V3g were still waiting for the data bundles, its almost Novemeber now and still no word on the bundles, was it not supposed to come out at the begining of this month?? Any ETA'S????

New month, new hope :) Let's hold thumbs for next week....

I hope so too, Vodacom3g!

Our company has a big project coming up next month that involves 10 teams of 2 persons each travelling all over the country and each team will need about 1 to 2 GB of mobile data transfers during a 2 month period. As it is a 2 month project, we are considering buying 10 6680's and going the pre-paid route on Vodacom, but if Vodacom can not produce, we will be forced to go to a competitor

For example bundling all 10 data contracts into one to get better usage.
Can you do that?? Do you mean having one contract and having multiple devices all able to connect simultaneously and share the same cap?

You can also do it via a dedicated APN. A dedicated APN costs about R2800 ish a month, plus your Telkom circuit costs (or if you have a MPLS connection into MTNNS or IS - the MPLS port charge).
Your first 40 odd users get "free" subscription, after that its about R70 per user per month.
You can choose how you want the APN billed - either client pays (on their normal cell bill out or in bundle), or company originated billing (company that registered the APN pays). If the company pays, they can buy big bundles really cheap and load them onto the APN, and all usage on the APN comes off that bundle. You get massive discounts this way, and your users end up paying nothing - it reflects R0.00 on their cellphone bill.
One of the biggest advantages of going the corp APN route is because it terminates the connection on your internal network, normal company firewall/security rules apply. In other words, you can block internet access so that the company only pays for legit business data.
Hope this helps!
Cheers ~

This sounds like a really useful little facility!!
2 questions - hope someone can answer:
If the user pays - can you set your own pricing structure or are you limited to the std pricing models?
You say really cheap... how cheap is that?
