Definitely not. That's why I'm still asking for pre-paid data bundles. And you're willing to pay 4 times as much for that...Vodacom have 3G/HSDPA, Virgin/Cell-C don't.
R2 per MB is the out-of-bundle rate, in-bundle would be cheaper.

Depending on how much you use it wouldn't be much cheaper. For large bundles you also lose out or have to pay extra. Bundles are outdated, they should never have existed and we should have been charged a "fair" rate like 50c/MB, yet Vodacom insists on milking the cash cow.Definitely not. Try roaming on Vodacom or if you are roaming only use Cell-C.On my pc i'm lucky to get to 1 MB when using vm. Email seems to work ok in beginning then counts percentages for even small emails of about 5 KB. Anti virus updates of less than 100 KB takes minutes to download. My top speed according to net limiter is 0.6 KB/second. On the graph there are a few high points then just nothing.
DON'T do that. There is a warning that the system can go offline at any time and you might be unable to use your bundle during that time or even lose it.this is how it works - you buy top up vouchers to the value of the data bundle you wish to buy - then sms the bundle name ''mymeg500'' to the number 100. havnt tested it out yet , will do tomorrow![]()
That's because with Virgin you ARE on the Cell-C network. I'm glad Vodacom's network is of use to some people.I used the manual network setting yesterday. When i tried roaming on CC it just went back to virgin. Then i tried roaming on VC. Worked greatMax speed was 6.8kB/s. Average speed was just under 5kB/s
I install thunderbird off a cd then updated it. Managed to chalk up 11 MB in total. It felt great to use VC @ VM prices
Thanks for the tip Prometheus

You snooze you lose. Are they finally getting around to it? I notice that the *111# menu has changed and now includes: 2. SMS and Data Bundle Purchases ... selecting option 2 only gives you sms bundles though...
Too bad for VC I've already applied to have my number ported to VM![]()
Add to the list the V Rewards that is now working, sorta. I don't think Vodacom or even MTN will ever beat their price. Maybe Cell C will...If Vodacom had ppdb's that doesn't expire I would just buy a R1,100 voucher for R1,000. Does anyone know if they still sell them for R1,000? This would give me an extra 9.09% discount or even more if I buy it at PnP on my data. This will give me almost 3GB for R1,000. This could last me 5 months. But wait a minute, Virgin only charges 50c/MB and still undercharges me...
Come on Vodacom, make it worth my while when you finally offer ppdbs.
nobody needs to beat virgins price as their service is waay to unstable
Getting better by the day... soon it will be like it was before the mass exodus.nobody needs to beat virgins price as their service is waay to unstable
MTN seemed more stable when I used it, although only on gprs at the time.true that.... i think mtn seems the most stable
