Or it could be both - hard to say since the 8TA rep is mum on the matter.

I'm on 37mb now - if I get to naught and they haven't made a plan for those of us who don't have access to the iStore I'm going to have to make the move.
 
Why can't u just get 8ta 10 gig special, cut the sim card and off u go? 10gbs for 199!!

Poor 8TA coverage.

Besides - 8TA is happy to just give you a micro sim and they're freely available from 8TA shops so there's no need to cut.

Can you make calls from the sim if you put it in a phone? Or will it not work?

So why do they still try promote this "iPad Special"? R160 for 1 gig, not much a special....

Unlike the large 8TA only packages the smaller iPad specific accounts roam on MTN.

Can you use this iPad special in a different tablet as well?
I've got a HTC Flyer and this is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. I'm just not sure whether the Flyer takes the small SIM etc etc.

Sorry if this is an uber noob question, but will the iPad thing work on my Flyer?
 
I've got the micro sim and the iPad - I cannot believe the only way to connect the two is by trekking to Cape Town or Johannesburg to link the two. :confused:
 
It's a new month and time for a new SP. I can only hope that 8TA has sorted this out by the time the Mofaya summer promotion ends.

I went to the iStore at V&A Waterfront on the weekend to purchase one and was told - "We don't have them yet and have no idea when we'll be getting them, Sorry"

:wtf:

So never mind waiting for other outlets to get them, the iStore doesn't even have them!
 
Guys, i've just spoken to the iStore in Durban, and they have recommended to me that it is best to go to a Telkom store and get the microsim from Telkom, buy the pre-paid date and register the ipad on the Portal myself.

My local Telkom store has 1 micro sim card left and i have reserved it and will be collecting after work! Hopefully it works out!!

It wont - I've tried. Only SIMs rica'd at the iStore will work.

Hence my ire.

Yip, no success. Wont let you register it on the portal saying "Invalid iPad sim ID/ID Number combination" :mad:
I cannot believe this. Even the reps at the iStore don't know what im talking about when i phone them!!

Guys, can I now load normal pre paid data onto my 8ta sim and still use it on my iPad?
