Hi guys.

I currently use Vodacom for my internet and I want to give MTN a try.

Does MTN also have a prepaid data option where you can buy a data bundle with your airtime? I cannot find any info on the MTN website.

Thanks.

Pricing and more info here: MTN Data Bundles.

Be aware that you can only buy one pre-paid data bundle in a 30 day period. Some people work around this limitation by having a collection of pre-paid SIM cards and rotating them when they need to purchase a new bundle. I've seen this referred to as 'SIM farming'.

The normal definition of SIM farming is when you have multiple SIMs connected at the same time to get very high download speeds.

But just owning a large number of SIMs, and using one at a time, could also work. A bit like owning a dairy farm but only milk the same cow for a week at a time....;)

Are we bringing in the cow metaphors now? :D A review of mobile data economics might be in order ...
