Prepaid Data Window Period

Well you can easily determine your expiry date just by listening to your balances. It should say something like "You have 0 MB left of your x MB bundle. Your Bundle expires on [date] " .

That is why I want to know when the period has expired!!!!!

you mean that when you dial 555 or *141# it doesnt tell you anything about data bundles?!!

How foolish of them!

Anyway just add 30days to your start date - if you can remember it. in the meanwhile use Virgin 50c/mb ;)

When you have nothing left in your data bundle it does not tell you when the period expires. I have 8 cards and put R10 on each and replace them as I need them, but towards the end of the month I sometimes have problems knowing when I can relod another R10 bundle.

Hi Clive,

We are doing work on a solution which will notify a customer when his airtime balance is low, but not specific to data bundles.

When you have megs in your data bundle you are told

"you have 2.0MB left in your 10MB bundle expiring on 2Sept 2006"

Wehn you have nothing left in your data bundle you are told

"you have 0MB left in your 10MB bundle .you will be charged at the out of bunble rate of R2"

It would be better if you got the following message.

"you have 0MB left in your 10MB bundle, which expires on 2 Sept 2006 .you will be charged at the out of bunble rate of R2".

Thanks

Sean

I've put this forward and I'll advise ASAP

Mtn should scrap the window period for loading another data bundle.
with virgin there is no such thing.

When my 350mb data bundle is finished for the month - I have to switch to VM until I use up the R50 (100mb) and I can load another 350mb data bundle. It would be much simpler for me and more profitable for mtn if I can simply load another 350mb on mtn and begin another 30 day period.

in that way i dont have to jump networks and mtn keeps my custom.

Thanks we'll look into that as well

Do you use a datacard or phone? You could always just load a databundle on to a second prepaid simcard.

I use a phone.

Your idea is valid and I will consider it - but it's also a hassle to keep switching sims - and if I have to switch its much simpler to switch to VM as you donot have to buy a bundle.

Furthermore if you dont use any of the mtn sims within 90days they suspend it so some months you might just get caught - it happened to me actually.
