Prepaid porting to Cell C

The new 15c oob rate suits my requirements perfectly.
Over the weekend I picked up a Cell C sim to test the signal at my house, and that is also fine.
Now the questions - can I port my Vodacom prepaid to the Cell C test sim (since a number has already been allocated and airtime loaded), or do I need to pick up another SIM ?

Go into a Cell C store,they should be able to port you....or call the call centre.I did it on my contract very easily but not sure if they do it on prepaid like that.

Hi BuckRogers

We have attached the prepaid porting process. You would need to get a new SIM card. Unless you contact our porting team on 0847678287 to complete a port in, as well as a number change.

For the quickest and best result it is better to port in to a new rica'd not activated simcard as once the port completes 7:30pm once you switch it on it is ported and porting.

If you want to port the the already active sim that can't happen so you would buy a new sim port to it. Once you up and running on that simcard you give the port team a call and they can do a number change for you where they move your ported number to the simcard that was already activated. This process takes a bit of time as they need to call you back on the number to confirm you are the owner then change it which takes a few minutes.

The airtime can always be transferred so unless you bought a big data bundle I would suggest to just port in to the new simcard and use that one. Make sure that when you change to Cellc you also change your price plan on *108# to 66c as that is the only price plan with the 15c oob rate. ;)
