Prepare for a significant weather system.

Oh dear. My only daughter gets married in W Cape on Saturday. Groom and family here from the USA, and can't belive how cold we are. Now wet, too, it seems.

Why schedule a wedding during winter in the Western Cape? It's known to be quite wet around this time of year.

I just hope next week's long weekend is rain-free. Some colleagues and I are going camping.

As Mike stated earlier, in Winter it rains in CT. Maybe if you go far enough inland you'll be safe?

Meh, the South African Weather Service don't know their arseholes from their elbows.

Been bucketing down here in P.E. since 08:00, we really needed it :D
True but for the first time in nearly two years I was reminded that my roof has a leak in it. :o

There's an uncanny (warmish and from the south east) and at times, quite strong wind blowing along the berg here in Stellenbosch, the sky is grey with spots of blue and a last shaft of sunlight between clouds momentarily. It is cold. The trees are bending to the wind, I can hear branches scraping across the roof and hear the wind rushing through the treetops, dispersing the last of the brown and red autumn pin oak leaves. We have weather, and (..bob dylan..) it's a changing.

Same here - two leaks. 1 near the peak and another around the chimney. Had to remove everything from the mantelpiece and mop up when I got home from work.

Pool is now overflowing!!!

Be very careful in the PE area as there is plenty of water on the roads.

That is awesome to hear for PE... you guys needed it so badly...

Pity about the leaks in the roof though guys...

Before this rain our dams' average levels had risen to 45% from 31% about a month ago. Once it hits 50% they will consider relaxing some of the 3 year old water restrictions!!

Hmmm! Tomorrow in Gauteng looks like it's going to be mightily frosty. Wind chill through the CBD in Joburg is going to be awful

Unlikely. wind blows from north i.e. warm wind. Now it is 11C. If wind blew from south, it could be about 5C right now.
Regarding rain, had some rain sprinkle few hours ago.

Whew had a thunderstorm here during the night. Had to get up to unplug the computers. And the wind! I'm glad that my house is still standing.
