Prepare for a significant weather system.

Hahaha, everyone else suffers, but CT is mainly dry - had a measly 2mm in 36 hours. And we're always wet in winter. Go figure.

Southern Cape officials on Thursday said more than 1,000 people spent Wednesday night in community halls and churches after they were evacuated from their homes due to flooding.

The Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and some parts of the Western Cape are currently experiencing heavy downpours. Some of the affected towns include Kleinbrak and George.

Eden District Municipality's Gerhard Otto said: “Most of these people are housed at community halls and in Riversdale they are housed at Riverside Hall on the rugby club and they have been provided with blankets, mattresses as well as with food with the assistance of the Red Cross.”

Meanwhile, The Mossel Bay Municipality’s Harry Hill said the rain has filled the town’s main reservoir to beyond capacity. “The town is coping very well and everything is under control but we had a lot of rain and the rivers are quiet full and obviously there are people who are suffering because of this. We had no major incidents in this case,” he said.

Mopping up operations are expected to get underway in several Southern Cape communities on Thursday following widespread downpours and flooding.

Double story house, I am good.... let the rain continue.....

Love this city but my god we've had plenty rain since October last year

And CPT is still dry, haven't had much rain here actually. Supposed to be pouring here and its sunny. Irony!

Tiny bit of sun in Parktown, but the clouds are looking quite menacing over to the south and west.

Back in the Southern Cape, we're washing away. Outeniqua Pass closed yesterday - water pouring off the cliffs onto the national road.

Switched on our solar geyser's electrical element today.

First time we had to.

Pretoria's cold and overcast - not much chance of having hot water from the sun today...

Think the Parktown Prawns have something to do with this weather?

By the by, what's these little beasties doing?
Wouldn't put it past those pesky vermin. Fortunately we haven't had to contend with them in our office park :)

It is POURING in durbs. I got woken up this morning at about 4-5am with a huge downpour, then sunshine on the way to work and now it is pouring again!
