Can't do that, it's still Pretoria and we are still waiting for a reason to change the name except the usual it was named by whites which doesn't fly anyway mcFly. :D

The reasons provided were neither acceptable nor relevant. Nobody is whining.

hi forum members!! i've been appointed as one of the Re-branding forum members by the city of Pretoria Municipality to change the current logo. what are your feelings and thoughts on the issue of re-branding the city?

with the Username you chose being "AZANIA" i somehow think you may be biased towards Tshwane instead of pretoria...:rolleyes:
 
Re-branding? My thoughts are to skip the re-branding and use our tax money to pay the refuse removal guys more so I wont have to look at black bins any more. :D

I personally recall making quite a few comments some time back and I haven't got the time and patience to repeat myself again. Besides wasn't there a formal procedure to have followed. Making more noises is not going to alter anything and from what I have read recently the Council is hell bent to have their way and change it to the Tshwane name anyway.

Fed up with the way the Government constantly throws the Cat amongst the pigeons to test the temperature of the water/public sentiment.

If it wasn't for people like Pretorius South Africa might still be sitting in the stone age. That can be a good or bad thing depending on how you view man's evolution on this planet.

The city can be renamed 'Mbekimandelathambozumahani' for all I care.

In 100 years time it will barely resemble the Pretoria of old.

Imagine if Zim was still called Rhodesia? You would then have to talk about Rhodesia pre-1980 and Rhodesia post-1980. But thanks to the name change we can simply talk about 'Rhodesia' (the thriving bread-basket of Africa), and then 'Zimbabwe' (the dire basket case of Africa). The name change marks the political transition perfectly.

The same should be done with South Africa. It should have been renamed Azania back in 1994 but now would still be a good time. Then history will clearly be able to mark the political transition from when it was South Africa to the new Azania.

And there's now an anthill in Timbuktu where there wasn't formally one. We should just call it Antville now to mark the transition before and after the anthill. Yeah, that makes perfect sense now. :rolleyes:
 
who cares. just a name - which consists of letters that become sounds.

we can call it "Moseisly" - willl go nice with 'You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany' ;)
