Pretoria WUG

I wanna hook up with others in Centurion.

Contact me please. I know of the PWP / Pretoria Wireless Project. There is a node a couple of blocks away from me. I WANT IN! I have mentioned it 2 years ago but never got around to it. Now I am!

The site is not much of a help
Pretoria Wireless Project has a problem

Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties.

Try waiting a few minutes and reloading.

(Can't contact the database server: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) (localhost))

Sorry about that.

The only person with admin to the website is on holiday at the moment.

I'm in Centurion and currently have 3 hops over 6km installed. I'm extending these links. Anybody interested PM me.

Is the wireless Project in the Moreleta area?

:p

Well I am live on PWP and it rocks! Will put my FTP server live this coming week. It has been installed and all that, but will be away this weekend, so cannot plug it in yet. Don't have time.

The pending link with JAWUG is going to be brilliant! :D

Eish! ;)

Sitting at my Gfriend's house in Lynnwood. Picking up Pretoria Mesh, but don't know how to connect. I cannot believe I neglected to sharpen my wireless skills over the last few years. I have this big gaping hole in my computing knowledge. Have to fix this immediately. :)

BTW, PWP is brilliant. My connection in Centurion is fantastic. Thanks to the peeps from PWP for helping me out. Especially Th0rn and CodeWarrior.

For the sake of uptake of this fantastic tech, I hope the PWP and JAWUG link is done ASAP! :D

Communication?

Just a quick question: how does everyone on the pwp communicate with each other to set up lan games, let ppl know about the ftp servers, etc?

IRC, Google talk, MSN, win popup, ICQ, etc?

Like Ryder said. PWP uses internal IRC and also Skype... Mostly IRC. If you are on the network, you can scan the network with a subnet scanner available online to see what services are available at any given time.
