Print Screen Function

Well my girlfriend uses the printscreen funtion and just paste the "shot" onto Outlook.

But at home I don't have Outlook. If I paste it to Paint. It's 4mb!!!

How can I send it as an attachment without zipping it?

Do you have word? You can (iirc) paste it into a word doc.

Does paint allow saving in any other format thatn bmp?

in paint, go file/save as and select filetype as jpg from the drop down selection box.

should make the file size down to very easily emailable.

Wouldn't a digital picture be compressed already - esp .jpegs.

Yes, a jpeg is already a compressed file format if I understand it correctly.

There are different levels of compression available. The higher the compression the smaller the file but the more artefacts you end up with.

a nice app that i use (auto jpeg) is gadwin. When you hit the printscreen button it automatically saves the jpeg into your chosen folder. Easy especially if you use it a lot
