Problem with proxy server and Mac

I am having a problem with my proxy server and a Macbook.

When I open Safari it asks me for my username and password for the proxy server. When I put the username and password in (and tick to remember the password), it goes in, but when I quit Safari and open it again, it keeps asking me for the username and password.

I also made sure that the proxy server details were setup correctly in the network settings.

Is there something I need to trash?

I went into the keychain access and removed previous internet entries, and set it up again, but is still does not remember the password.

It works on my other machine.

It also happens with my email. I have an exchange account setup in Entourage, but every time I open entourage it asks for the domain (it remembers the password and username here), even though I ticked it as well to remember the details.

Is there something else I am missing?

it has been a while since i touched a mac, but try a different user account, If it works go to home folder and look for the appropriate plist file to trash

Run repair from the keychain first aid menu.

Thanks, I'll run the keychain first aid repair. If no luck, will setup a new user and see if the same problem happens
