Is there anyone using 2 x RAIN SIMs in the same phone with RainTalk app?
I've just discovered (after running out of airtime on SIM1) that the Raintalk app uses the registered phone number to make outgoing calls. Irrespective of whether I select SIM1 or SIM2 to make the call. they all go out through SIM1 as that's the number I used to register the app.

The call centre suggested uninstalling and then reinstalling the app, and to register the second number this time. Having done this, all calls now go out through SIM2 instead.

You can only register one number when installing the app, and there's no option in the settings to register the second number, nor to change the existing number. So basically the airtime on the second SIM is unusable.

PS - can't say how it works with the phone's native VoLTE as my phone unfortunately doesn't have it.

Would like to know if anyone else has solved this, or some feedback from Rain reps...

Hi @racer

Please provide us with your email via PM | https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/conversations/add?to=rain_mobile

RAIN replied as follows to my query:

Hi @racer

Thanks for sharing your details, unfortunately the rain can only call using the number it was registered with so when the minutes do deplete on one of the sim cards then you will have to uninstall and reinstall and register the other sim card to the app.

Thanks, rain

Really badly thought out software. I would basically have to uninstall/reinstall the app every time I want to call from a different number.... Seriously ridiculous! Between this and the slow internet speeds during peak hour at night, I think its time to move on....

Update: When uninstalling the RainTalk app this morning, I noticed the status of my SIMS changed to VoLTE on the top bar of the phone, Turns out my phone does have it, but its not listed in the Connections Settings for some reason. It must have arrived with the last update, as its never been there before (hence me having to install the Raintalk app).. So for those using Raintalk, it might be worthwhile checking after an update, especially on Samsung phones... All working good now, both sims work as they should. Of course, the app should still be fixed to support both SIMSs....

It can be a bit of a hassle but it's been working fine for me.
