Hey there mybroadbander's
Ever cut an onion or crush some garlic while cooking? Who hasn't? People who don't like food, that's who! I kid
The problem inevitably arises when you do not wear gloves, which I can't because it grosses me out (don't ask). So I have found this nifty solution (which was kind of an old wives tale till I tried it).
Simply wash your hands with some toothpaste.
Most brands of toothpaste contain a micro-abrasive (which helps shine teeth), this helps scrubbing off the micro cells (oils) left behind by the onion or garlic. Et voila! clean minty (or whatever floats your boat... I'm looking at you musk users
) hands.
As a bonus... if you want to clean the old film off car light lenses, the same micro abrasive can be used to make them good as new... I have only tried this with old Citi Golf lights, but I am pleased to report that it does work... even if it is a little bit of effort
Hope this helps some of you. I know it helped me
