Problems connecting with E220 modem after pc has been in standby mode

Ok, here's my problem.

After my desktop XP pc has been in standby mode, I simply cannot connect with my Hauwei E220 modem to the Vodacom HSDPA service again.

Just get DNS lookup errors & after connecting and reconnecting for almost 5 times, I must unplug the modem, plug it in again, delete any temp files in my TEMP folder and it eventually connects.

Anyone else having problems like this?
 
yes me to BUT with the PCMCIA card using 3.2.1 at first then swapping softwares

especially when my laptop goes into hibernate u have to restart pc in order to connect with(3.2.1)
This however has not happened with 9.2.4 which is out in the UK got it from a friend.
 
I'm using Mobile Partner version 11.002.03.16.03 - well, that's what it said in the 'About' box. :)
 
thats the latest click on help and about should say 3.2.1 .....e.t.c

Try upgrading to VMCLite version 3. I use it. And it the modem restarts after i come out of sleep, and all goes well again. Just my advice. You can revert back to Mobile Partner if it doesnt work for you.
 
I had this problem with WiFi cards before. To fix it you have to go under the cards settings. Somewhere normally under advanced settings there is power settings. Make sure it is not in any power saving mode. The thing is what happened with me is that if your computer goes into standby mode it switches the card off, then when you switch your computer back on the card lost it's configuration and you have to repair the connection or take it out and put it back in. Don't know if you are having the same problem.

No, I have unticked any power saving features for the modem.
 
Seen this a few times where USB devices don't come properly out of hibernation. A "don't know-what-I-actually-did" fiddle with hibernation / USB / driver settings sometimes resolve it. Although on Vista it seems to be the OS itself.

The wonderful world of Windows and/or USB.....:rolleyes:

This issue seems to be resolved with VMCLite Version 3.
