Problems with DSTV Explora After New Smart Lnb Is Installled

I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
I replaced my older LNB for the new 501 quad smart LNB. I relocated the new one exactly at the same angle as the previous one.
I Have linked no 1 cable link line to my first explora, and it plays out fine.
I have linked my second explora to the second line and it's totally erratic. This was to test it as I have a third explora which I intend to link via a smart switch, once I know the signal is correct.
What should the satellite frequency settings be for decoders 2& 3 be if the settings for decoder one are:
Freq 1- 1210
Freq 2 -1420
Freq 3 - 1680
Tuner index 1- 0
TI. 2-1
TI 3-2

Tried F1 at 1892
F2 at 2040
F3 at 1680
With index 1 =e
I2=4
I3=2
But the signal strength comes and goes. Can anyone advise me what's going wrong?

hey

you need to check on the box it came with, it should have a sheet with the frequencies. I usually leave 3 channels per explorer, so 1st explorer you use 1, then the next one you use 4, then 7. If you have any plain single view HD decoders, they use just one channel.

also you might try the new LNB with slightly more angle on it, with the wires coming out the bottom side pointed slightly more down. they say it should be 45 degrees, but ive found it can be up to about 60 depending on the area and lnb, so try inbetween there and have someone watching the tv signal while you adjusting on the lnb.

also to note if you had a old small dish 65cm you need a new one.

(NO single view decoders; just 3 Exploras and a UEC 4 channel)

(No, my dish is still an original 1 metre so super sensitive)

i would recommend for you to first get the decoders on their own channel, chances are it will all work after doing that, if you still having connectivity issues, or your dish isnt 80%+ signal/strength then start fiddling with the lnb angle as that is more of a tine tuning to get your 90/100% signal strength. having a high signal&strengh will improve response times in the menu and picture quality.

yes exactly, you need to run each decoder on its own channel. the decoders are not designed to self sense each other and self adjust, multichoice are trying to make business for their installers

yes it should in theory the LNB should be at 4:30 on hour clock hand, it should have some degrees on the dish where you can see the angle. should be set on about 45 or maybe slightly more depending on your situation.

Have tried resetting all frequencies. Can do on Exploras but not on UEC.
Then another issue. The signal is at full strength but when I disconnect and then attach thru the DSTV Smartswitch, it will not work. Followed all the instructions in the linking. Even pinged each aerial cable and numbered them to be sure of 1-1 connections.
With 3 cables coming in , one has to be dedicated to the switch/splitter to feed the 4 tuners of the UEC.
Then one is a direct hook up to my field trials Explora decoder, and one to splitter/switch to split to my own 2 Exploras. That's the weak link, cos while it works as a direct connection (So I know it has signal) it will not work via switch. Connections checked and re-made with no joy!

I now have further info. Apparently if you have the SMART LNB it does not work with the SMART Switch! No one told me that. So I need to change the Smart LNB 501 to the 500 as that one can feed to a switch with 2 Universals for UEC 4 Tuner and 3 Uni-feeds to go direct to Exploras. Bloody nuisance that they do not explain this when getting the gear. Just want to push work to installers??

problem is 1132 decoder..... must I change the frequencie to this decoder .
evey decoder is single view.
Hd decoder okay.
jhow do i chance the frequencie on the 1132 decoder.

You don't. The 1132 needs to be connected to a universal port on the LNB.

i have the same issue i bought smart LNB yestarday i connect to the dish and after that i connect two cables on for the 4u decoder and othr one for my explora but the strange thing is 4u HD it works with full sgnals bu explora thr's 0 signals, what must i do to get signals on both decoders?
