I just bought this TV yesterday and am having some issues. It was intended to be used as a PC monitor, so the first thing I did was plug it into my PC. Immediately, I noticed how the fonts/writing in Windows was blurry, enough so to annoy the crap out of me. The other thing I noticed was how there's a kind of lag to my mouse movements, it feels less accurate, like a stone has been places on my cursor.

I've connected the TV to my PC using a DVI to VGA cable since the TV doesn't have a DVI port, would using a HDMI cable make a difference at all?

There should be a "Game mode" setting on the TV ... switch it to on.

... and no, the video part of HDMI is DVI ... HDMI just adds sound to the mix (basically, and for the purposes of this discussion).

"Game" mode just appears to change the brightness/contrast levels etc. I do have it on and there's no difference.

Also, I'm not using DVI, I'm using VGA. So between VGA and HDMI would there be a difference?

Check what resolution you're outputting, and make sure that it matches the TV's native resolution.

Next, make sure that there is no other scaling going on.

The Game mode should really sort out the input lag.

Sorry, misread the VGA part ... yes, quite possibly, what is your resolution set to on the PC side?

Res is set to 1920x1080 (which is native) and I can't find any other scaling options in the TV's menus

res sounds right.... could be coz its using analogue signal...

hope so :erm:

Not likely... Should be getting 1-to-1 mapping of pixels.

The next step is to calibrate; go to http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/ for a quick and easy way to do some light DIY calibration. One possibility is the subpixel order (RGB vs BGR); the lagom tests include something to determine that.

I just got the same tv and the hdmi doesn't pick up my ps3. It picks up my hdpvr and mede8er. But no sound.

HDMI would be way better than VGA that is for sure...

What output does your PC have? You could always get an DVI->HDMI converter if your PC only has DVI out.

Is there a setting for HDMI passthrough, or selection for external speakers? Don't have the Tv, but I know if the speakers are set to external you won't have sound through the TV. Check Mede8er for HDMI sound or SPDIF sound.
