Hi,
I opened a contract with Telkom for the Galaxy S10 and about 4 days into the contract, I noticed that something was wrong with the battery so I reported it and I was told that it would soon be collected and taken for tests. It took over a month of calling and irritating Telkom for them to finally fetch the device, which I've been billed for, but haven't been able to use due to the issue.
After they finally picked it up and had it tested, it was confirmed that the battery had issues and I was told that my contract is going to be canceled and I must apply for a new one.
They picked it up 2 and a half weeks ago and when I called the mobile department the other day, I was told that it's going to be cancelled within 2 days. Why am I not surprised that it wasn't? I called another few times to follow up on the cancellation, but every time they didn't seem to understand that I was just following up on the cancellation and not requesting to cancel so they'd put me on hold for 5 minutes only to tell me that I'm going to be charged 15k to cancel a contract as per their request, not mine. Yes its 2 and a half months into the contract and usually it's correct to be charged for cancelling, but I didn't request the cancellation, like I said above they told me its going to be cancelled and now I definitely want it cancelled because I was promised it would be with no charge. I don't want to be charged for 2 contracts.
Anyway, now I'm paying for a phone that I haven't been able to use for 2 months and one that I don't even have in my possession and every time I call, Telkom do absolutely nothing about it and every time I talk to a new consultant, they see no records of a cancellation being processed.
I'm sick and tired of them. They're actually beyond completely and utterly useless and I have no idea what to do next.
