How bad a state is the drive in? Have you tried recovering it yourself, with a Linux Live disk? If it's still spinning, you might be able to read the drive with Linux.

People want point & click interfaces, not cli utils like gnu ddrescue, testdisk etc

I was thinking more in the line of double clicking on the File manager and see if he can access the drive to copy the stuff off. If not, seek profesional.
