Prophecy.co.za

Just to deviate from the topic a little, do they operate on a Saturday? E.g. can I order a Peripheral today and get it sometime next week?

You can order anytime, they will only start processing your order in the coming week though
Edit :
From their website
''Office Hours: 9:00AM to 5:00PM weekdays, closed weekends and public holidays.''

i bought my last 2 vga cards through them +1000 last year they got my 5870 to me like withing 2 days from ordering this was like the 18th of dec.......

I want to buy either the Geforce GT240 1GB DDR3 or the Ati Radeon 5670 1GB DDR5. Which one is the best?

@TERUMO - Will the 512mb ddr5 be enough. The Ati 5670 has 1gb ddr5?

Well it depends on a few things
Will it be used for gaming?
At what resolution do you play?

If you play at 1680x1050 or lower then it wont make a big difference, but if you play on a higher res it will hamper the card a little bit.
But even with the 512mb ram it still is a much faster card than the 2 you were looking at.

1) I can't believe you don't know who prophecy.co.za is, they are basically 1 of, if not the best online shop

2) I have spent thousands and thousands of rands on pc equipment with them over the years and never once had a problem

3) Shipping is extremely cheap for service u get ( and it comes to your door, not the post office) and the best part is shipping is a fixed price

They are excellent and I haven't had bad service with them for years. It should take 2 or 3 working days to reach you after your payment is confirmed.

Wow guys, I'm a little bit overwhelmed by this thread. Thanks for all the positive comments! Was sick in bed today and feeling a little bit down, great to read something like this :) We work hard to get things right at Prophecy, so it's always good to hear when we are doing so.

As to what card to get with a fixed budget of R1200 - definitely one of the following:

GTS 250 (old 9800GTX+, but still a great card): http://www.prophecy.co.za/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=gts 250&page=1&sort=3a
HD 5750: http://www.prophecy.co.za/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=hd+5750&x=0&y=0
or GTS 450, if you can stretch your budget slightly, or wait for the Inno3d to come into stock:

Finally, in general when you are buying from a company you haven't dealt with before, there are a few easy steps you can take to see if they are trustworth - I get asked this question so often, I wrote a blog post about it:
