Oh and one more comment - in the R1200 range, don't worry *too* much about whether it's a 512mb card or 1gb card. Yes, 1gb is better - but not at the cost of getting a slower GPU. EG, rather get the HD5750 512mb instead of a HD5670 1gb.
 
Wow guys, I'm a little bit overwhelmed by this thread. Thanks for all the positive comments! Was sick in bed today and feeling a little bit down, great to read something like this :) We work hard to get things right at Prophecy, so it's always good to hear when we are doing so.

I think they can improve on stock levels. Surely they know how many items they have and would order more before running out??
 
Artagra and the guys have been going at it years getting Enthusiast and more common hardware on or ahead of the curve,keep a good eye on the specials they have on some brand new pieces

I've done some price checking. It appears to be one of the most expensive. Do they make it up in service or some other way (warranty).

They provide excellent service. Had faulty memory once (one dimm in a matched pair), and they replaced it with no issues. They also paid for courier to collect, and deliver again.

As far as I know they don't normally keep stock on hand but get the stock levels from the suppliers.

I've dealt with them for a few years now and even though they might be a bit more expensive on some items I will keep on supporting them due to the service. It has happened that I needed something for the next day and Paul and Henk drove through to their suppliers and picked it up for me. This was a order that I only put through at 3 PM and I collected it the same afternoon.
 
R500 difference in price is considerable. Their CEO should drive it to my house for that ;-). Maybe they should offer a price matching deal?
 
I Think the reason why they sometimes are a lil more expensive is that they use more than one supplier of the same goods. As soon as the cheaper supplier runs out of a popular item(for example), they go to the next supplier on the list who has stock who might be a bit more expensive...very good business model, always trying to keep stock for us.
 
Such a large difference in price makes you uncompetitive. LAST in a list of around 8 who stock this item or 13 in total. That's pretty poor!
