Doesn't the extra system give it a bit more functionality and room to expand? If we limit it to the forums it won't be as easy to manage?
The more systems one has running on a server, the more risk there is of being hacked, no system is 100% hack proof but it is silly to expose your server to more risks than is absolutely necessary.
I'm fairly sure that the reason many of us did not want on-forum classifieds threads was due to the clutter it used to create in the Today`s Posts list. It is technically possible to exclude threads from specific forums such that those threads are never displayed in the Today`s Posts list.
Purely based on the risk associated with difficult to maintain systems that are effectively obsolete, I would recommend canning the off-forum photos and classifieds sections, and using the on-forum equivalents especially if the on-forum classifieds threads do not show up in Today`s Posts by default.

On second thought, why not make it even easier, instead of using the Classifieds forum and having to exclude that forum from Today`s Posts, just create a
Classifieds group, that way none of the classifieds posted in the group would appear in Today`s Posts and none of the posts in the group would increment post counts.
Possibly redirect the existing Classifieds forum to the new Classifieds Group the same way that the
Cellular forum has redirect links in the MTN, Vodacom, Cell C forums.[/highlight]
