Protea Squad for 1st Pro20

9.05pm Well well, I think we've got something resembling good news. The covers are coming off and the SuperSoppers are going to work. Can they get on before the rain returns?

There seems to be an echo.... :)

Lance obviously there is a limit to the rain because the umpires went off.

When it start it was drizzle, when they left it was a down pour.

So go ask yourself what is the difference between light drizzle and a down pour.

I am sure you can figure out which one is worse :D.

O well that is what happens when you are SA and you only know cautious approach. Take a risk and get the runs, instead we try knock singles and lose anyway. If we lost a wicket it would have only jumped to 130 i think.

SA and plodding singles FTL as usual. Today though it was not the usual suspects.

Pathetic! Not the Proteas team but this bloody D/L.

It's at times like this that I realise why I prefer rugby... I don't like a sport where you can't say that the better team won after the game is finished!

I actually dnt think its duckworth and lewis's fault at all,i mean they knew what they needed, they prolly just thought oh the rain seems to be going,we shud be fine.

Knock the team? Why would i knock the umpires? the decision was correct, the rain was light. The next over the rain was in down pour state once again good call by the umpires.

I am just pointing out that once again SA would rather take the cautious approach instead of going for the runs.

Plodding singles and hoping you hit a 4 is pretty silly. It would have been better losing because you gave it your best effort to get the required runs. I never saw ab trying to smash a four. We will never be aussie good because we do not take risks.

As stated, I do not have a problem with the actual D/L formula, it seems to work, it is more the umpires discretion as to when to actually leave the field that bugs me! We obviously would have been happy to go off after 11. England clearly wanted another over.

If you look at the cricinfo commentary during that 11th over they mention the rain coming down harder and the pitch getting wet (or properly damp as they put it).

Lance go on an umpire course then maybe you will understand the difference between light rain and a down pour :D. I suppose for some it is easier to blame the umpires than blame our batsmen for needing 8 runs off 6 deliveries. That was in the bag man once again as cricinfo said another D/L cock up by SA

Yeah, its a fine line, ruins the game,i guess just blame the rain.

OR sumbody buy AB some reading glasses.

Yup sadly this was going to an epic game but mother nature cannot be stopped :D

They should allow an hour dammit!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways we did really well, bosman wow just insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now i hope the selectors give him a run for a few games.

Now we are all in agreement! ;) This bloody rain stuff ruins what could potentially have been an excellent finish! The fact that we were one run behind D/L par shows how on track we were.

We should be better than that. We know the local conditions and should have played with that in mind and made sure we are beyond reproach. Just sad!

They all just lazy, and wana sleep, just wait for the rain to stop ;p
I got nothing planned,i wudve waited.

Nah, it's better this way. We would have had to keep switching channels to watch the rugger and the cricket! They were actually being very considerate!
