Protection

All contraception methods have a chance of failing some more than others but its a chance you take to have sex...

Nothing is 100% i can't even be sure i'll be able to breathe in the next second.

Try, I'd be more worries about STD's & HIV/Aids than pregnancy :o

But that's just me :)

I only quoted it, you will need to read the refs.

I did, and that's what bothered me:
Eternal Perspective Ministries
Pope Paul VI, Encyclical Letter Humanae Vitae, Vatican: The Holy See
National Catholic Register
Eternal Life

Religious newsletters and statements from the Pope (from 40 years ago!)

patient package insert: "Ortho Tri-Cyclen®/Ortho-Cyclen

Of course, package inserts list every possible side-effect, even when there are no actual confirmed cases of it happening - this lot sounds no more dangerous than any common household medicine.

And the bit about trout - how relevant is that to human health?

I'm not saying there aren't side effects - there are - but there many different pills, which do give a number of options.

Also, the effectiveness rate listed there is quite wrong; with correct use, the pill is about 99.7% effective - more effective than any other form of contraception.

Ok so you go through them and select 2 refs you don't like. Based on that you claim the article to be of ill intent ?

The article is based on facts not some hippy crap they dug up from under a tree.

From what I could see, excluding the CYOA product inserts, there were two [out-dated] references that weren't religious or salmon related (?).

EDIT - anyway for the sake of this topic can we safely agree that since the pill doesnt protect against STDs its unsuitable for untested partners?

I can do another Google search and find legit references if that is what you want.

My point is that I will not let my wife take anything that could harm her health for my pleasure. Be it as it may, I would not even let her take it for her own benefit. I love my wife to much for that. How you go about protecting your wife and yourself is your business I just feel a decision like that should be an educated one.

It's not health any which way you look at it, as the side effects clearly indicate such ;)

That is a given ofc :)

What side effects? I had a quick look and the male frogs still seem decidedly male.

EDIT - yes - effeminate frogs was one of the side effects you believe we should be concerned about. :p

Oke my side effects, ( i started after the doctor decided that i was drinking to many pain killers that time of the month age 18) (it didn't work for the pain)

My body hair increased ( facial and on my back lucky i'm blond)
headaches
cellulite (estrogen causes cellulite)
no sex drive (That i only figured out later when it started to bother me when guys called me the ice queen, when i was 20 it was a compliment)
I picked up weight (lots)
Moods (pms)
Because they do not test your hormone leves at 18 they give you the wrong pill and you end up with ages of problems later.

But hell i can deal with my body not screaming fussing little ones.

So besides the chances of dying i became an hormonal monster with lots of fluffy white body hair......

@ Peder - what do you do if you are married and do not want kids? Or more kids?

So my ex might not have been such a gnarly hairy bitc . . . oh wait - she wasnt on the pill. :o

All you need to do is get married, you don't need the pill or a connie then because sex stops altogether.

lol, there is the solution right there, throw in a condom or two, a few pills here, and there is no chance of any "reproduction" of any kind :D

on a more serious note, there are certain benefits to using the pill
- controls menstrual cycles (ie keeps "it" regular and on time)
- reduced chance of ovarian cancer (if used for something like more than 2 years)
- i have also heard that it helps control acne (this may be an old wives tale used to have your daughter birth control but I am not sure)

Never trust a woman to take a pill. She'll 'forget' and sentence you to 18+ years of child support payments :D

Like I said...there are no advantages when the woman 'forgets' to take them every once in a while :D

yea, and if its forgotten its ineffective for a week btw.

OMG.. i didn't know women can get back hair
