Apologies. Not my intent. But have you given serious thought to your ideas and their ramifications and practicality? Surely a police state where nobody has civil rights is not the solution. Where only the rich dodge the death penalty and the poor we kill? Where we force woman to abort? You call me supercilious because I point out the obvious flaws in your ideas?
Dude, I dont mind you pointing out my flaws, It was rather the way...but no worries, I am not a politician, I'm just passionate about South Africa and I don't want to see it going backwards as it is.
And I never said we should live in a police state, but we need to do something. Laws has to be come more strict to discourage people from committing the crimes. As it stands nothing is being done. Buildings are being burnt down, buildings & infrastructure damaged. Busses and trains burnt. And I feel they are doing this because they don't respect the law or our police and feel they are getting away with it.
If people do go on strike it needs to be peaceful, absolutely no exception.
You asked how does criminals have more rights, well for one, If someone breaks into my house I am not allowed to shoot at him. I'm supposed to ask him politely to leave, Only if he attacks me am I allowed to retaliate. If I shoot him or kill him (believe me when someone is in your house, you don't think clearly) without him attacking me. Then all of the sudden i'm guilty. This is not right. It gives the perception I can break into a house without not really having much repercussions.
Your other question was deploying military to do police work. The Police seems to be scared, who else can we deploy?. If not the Military then the Police needs to up their game. But as far as I know, they have to follow the exact same rules we do. They are also basically powerless against a mob.
The last thing was the Conception question, No I don't want to force abortion

. But possibly penalties or no more grants after the 1st kid?, I don't know. The problem is the population is to big and its increasing at a rapid rate. As it stands we don't have enough schools or hospitals, the unemployment rate is 27%, not to mention the housing issue. The only real solution that i can think off is bringing in a law to discourage having loads of kids as its not helping with our current situation.
Edit.
And no, I did not give it serious thought. It was a "spar of the moment response" after reading the OP.
