Protesters burn down Mpumalanga mall

Dude, I dont mind you pointing out my flaws, It was rather the way...but no worries, I am not a politician, I'm just passionate about South Africa and I don't want to see it going backwards as it is.
And I never said we should live in a police state, but we need to do something. Laws has to be come more strict to discourage people from committing the crimes. As it stands nothing is being done. Buildings are being burnt down, buildings & infrastructure damaged. Busses and trains burnt. And I feel they are doing this because they don't respect the law or our police and feel they are getting away with it.
If people do go on strike it needs to be peaceful, absolutely no exception.
You asked how does criminals have more rights, well for one, If someone breaks into my house I am not allowed to shoot at him. I'm supposed to ask him politely to leave, Only if he attacks me am I allowed to retaliate. If I shoot him or kill him (believe me when someone is in your house, you don't think clearly) without him attacking me. Then all of the sudden i'm guilty. This is not right. It gives the perception I can break into a house without not really having much repercussions.
Your other question was deploying military to do police work. The Police seems to be scared, who else can we deploy?. If not the Military then the Police needs to up their game. But as far as I know, they have to follow the exact same rules we do. They are also basically powerless against a mob.
The last thing was the Conception question, No I don't want to force abortion :p. But possibly penalties or no more grants after the 1st kid?, I don't know. The problem is the population is to big and its increasing at a rapid rate. As it stands we don't have enough schools or hospitals, the unemployment rate is 27%, not to mention the housing issue. The only real solution that i can think off is bringing in a law to discourage having loads of kids as its not helping with our current situation.

Edit.
And no, I did not give it serious thought. It was a "spar of the moment response" after reading the OP.

Fair enough. I get your points and agree with them in principle. We are on the same page. One just has to try and not get emotional when thinking of ways to fix the mess because that may just cause an even bigger mess.

My apologies once again. When I re-read my posts, I did see the douche bag in them. :p

Lol, no worries dude, and thanks!!
I do agree, One should not get emotional when thinking of proper fixes, its just difficult sometimes as the frustration boils over and then we shoot from the hip :p

This is ideologically what the ANC wants. After all you basically commit a crime in this country by starting and running a business.
They don't want you to own land for a business.
They don't want you to own a business as an entity.
They don't want you to make a profit off your business.
They don't want you to employ South Africans.

This is the only news I can find on it

Just don't shoot the intruder if he is unarmed

Ja, But how will I know. It mostly happens at night, most probably you just woke up and everything is happening so fast plus you are on an adrenaline high/rush. So you really don't think clearly. If you have time to turn on the lights and you can clearly see he is unarmed, then I agree you cannot shoot him.... The truth is he should not be breaking into my house, armed or not. I feel its unfair for me as the defender to asses the situation in split seconds and then I'm held accountable if I do shoot and go to jail for simply trying to defend my loved ones.

The court looks at what a reasonable person in the position would do in the situation. It actually doesn't really matter whether they are armed or not. It matter is a reasonable person would think they are a threat to you or someone else.

If you woke up and they were in your bedroom with nothing between you and them and you shot them, the court would rule that you did the right thing as a reasonable person would conclude that that person presents a significant threat to you or your partner.

Using Oscar's case: lets say the person in the bathroom was an intruder. It still would have been murder, as since the door was closed, he was not in direct danger from the intruder.

Thanks, This does clarify a few things. I do however feel if someone breaks in anywhere in my house, (regardless of his intention as I don't know his intentions), Its a threat to myself and/or my family. If I hear him breaking into my wendy outside, sure its not a threat. But If you are in my house then to me that's a threat, nothing good can come from it. Even if his intention was only to steal my DVD player, The moment I spot him, chances are good he is going to attack me.

But ja, As long as the courts does take the actual scenario into consideration. As I understood it, or rather how it was explained to me is if I shoot him and he did not carry weapon, then i'm in serious trouble, hence me not owning a gun....Best I have is a paintball gun with pepper balls :crylaugh:

Any LEADER with half a brain cell and morals can make drastic changes to improve South Africa as a whole in a short period of time. Look at Trump, do you think he was scared he is going to loose votes?, He has made hard decisions people did not agree with, Now everything is falling into place. A Leader needs to make hard decisions for the good of the country, They might be angry today but in a few weeks they will understand and respect him. No one is going to respect a president that sit backs and does fckal while the country burns.

* Bring back death Penalty for murderers
* Change laws to stop giving criminals more rights than its civilians
* Privatize Eskom
* Create Conception law, Not allowed more than 1 child if you earn X amount
* Re-establish the Commando System
* Resurrect our Military so that they can be deployed to riots like above.
* Act against ANY hate speech from anyone. No double standards.
* Make any and all strike action illegal.

This is just from the top of my head.

If CR steps too far out of line, there will be a vote of confidence in no time.

Trump can get away with what he does, because he is a populist. He promises to give the people what they want, just like JZ did in SA. Trump seems to be following through though.
