Protesters shut down dam in Limpopo

While boiling can get rid of bio agents, it cannot remove inorganic compounds brought into the water system by pollution, isn't it? Mind you, they're already fetching water directly from the dam according to the article. But nothing trumps convenience of having water piped directly to them. They already have the infrastructure.

Do they? Or was it paid for and never delivered? Or stolen? But not have the services which money has been looted? Yet voted for the looters.

They're complaining about water. In rural areas, there aren't "other services" besides water supply from municipalities. Electricity is obtained directly from Eskom and rubbish collection is non-existent.

Yet they voted for the people who loot the money and don't provide the services - For almost 30 years. As jy dom is moet jy afkak.

So a service then, that should be provided by their municipality. And is this service on their Municipal bills that they pay every month?

What bills? It's all supposed to be free as promised by the ANC.

Municipality they live under I suppose.

And the water trucks are owned by the family of the municipality cadre deployees who purposely loot the money and run down the infrastructure so that their family can charge for water supplied instead of providing the free services from the government the taxpayer has already paid for.

And the voters will vote them in again this year.

If they had an alternative to living in a shack, they probably wouldn't be living in a shack.

Ever seen some of the cars owned by shack dwellers and parked outside? Seen the DSTV dishes? They choose to live rent, rates and service free.

And why are the municipality not providing these services that these residents pay for?

I know that I pay my municipal bill every month and lo and behold...when I open my tap, water comes out.

And why are the municipality not providing these services that these residents the taxpayer pays for?

FTFY

Evidently, it's not the case in this area and municipality has acknowledged challenges they're facing.

Yes, looted money and uneducated cadres deployed to run engineering facilities with no cooking clue nor the education or ability to are an enormous challenge for any municipality.

and build some apartheid museums.
and more BEE rules.

#KeepVotingAnc

Watch the propaganda arm of the ANC - SABC TV News. Apartheid is blamed or referred to at least weekly for some reason the government has fkt up.

"Its because they built the dams too big", remember this? Was stated during a water crisis, maybe it could work for this scenario too. If they built the dam small enough there would be no water to protest about, dam apartheid!

Where's the water reticulation infrastructure? Stolen? Or the funds for the implementation stolen? Was it one of the VBS municipalities?

And if they interfere with the dams operation by shutting valves with no education in math and science, they may soon have no dam nor downstream villages left.
The article explains their grievances better than I could

I have absolutely no idea, though you may have a point.

Many do have requisite education and experience, but work under political executive with political decisions. You can't blame technical people for strategic management level decisions, can you?

I can't comment on their voting habits unfortunately. I just hope they do the right thing in future, whatever that is.

I can. ANC constituency. No comment needed. And it will remain an ANC constituency, no matter how badly you treat the voters.

Yes you can. I resigned from a job for that exact reason. ANC cadres can't resign as they are unemployable in the real world.

Because the pump broke.

The pump has since been fixed, but cannot be tested and supply resumed since the station is closed.

But then again, other things have been rolled into this in a "grievance soup" with failed policies being the main ingredients.

Political appointments or people with requisite education and experience? There's also element of "comfort zone". Many people work for same employers all their lives, not because they can't make it elsewhere...
