I have had a look at VPN threads here and see the most recommended are ExpressVPN and NordVPN

NordVPN had a breach not so long ago
ExpressVPN has a node in SA -- means open to access by SA "authorities" ( because of domicile of the server )

Is there anyone with experience of Proton ( a Swiss setup with some connection to CERN )
or
Can recommend it ...

I have been using the free option, but it is limited to three servers (USA, Netherlands, Japan).
So haven't used much as I have PIA account.

40Mbps line on free account option.

OK
Thanks
Do not really like the location of those servers
They are a bit shy on interaction / contact and for a security conscious operation I cannot find a "web-form" on their website ?
Website is at least HTTPS

From the creators of Protonmail.
Edward Snowden used to use Protonmail I heard

Just use Windscribe. Great VPN with powerful ROBERT adblocking.
Most of these big VPN's that advertise appear to be consumer orientated -- stick some software on your INDIVIDUAL devices
or
If they speak about "routers" they mean low-end glue and paste consumer devices

I am looking for something more robust / more industrial / more professional

Beauty of Windscribe is that they don't advertise much and are rather spending the money on more development and features.

OK
I had a quick look
I NOW understand -- YOU do not have the faintest clue what --

more robust / more industrial / more professional
or
stick some software on your INDIVIDUAL devices ( which is CLEARLY ALL Windscribe is ! )

Actually mean !

I've used Proton paid and the speeds still sucked.

I've had better experience with Vypr.

Based in ICELAND if I am not mistaken -- GOLDEN FROG
( I hope NO relation to FROGFOOT -- although the logos look very familiar )

VYPYVPN for Business
If you' don't have a business, I don't see the need to sign up for the business package.
IMHO is will just be more expensive, without the increase you are hoping for.

They aren't affiliated with Frogfoot.
Like Frogbook isn't as well :p
Poor frogs also need social media :D

That's not how VPN's work. Got any facts to back up that wild claim?
As you know -- POSSESSION is the first line of security
SO
What happens when
"Some person" obtains from a Magistrate / Judge a "wire-tap" warrant
Please note such a thing means the "wire-tappee" does NOT need to be informed!

What happens when
"Some person" obtains from a Magistrate / Judge a writ of warrant including search and confiscation ?

Then TICKETS to your server
WHAT information do you think might be stored on the server domiciled in South Africa ?
Information that can be gleaned by a proper Cyber-Forensic expert.
A VPN businesses equipment is NOT covered by -- DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY !

Ask ANY DATA CENTRE manager / supervisor / owner !
