PS 2 Remote

Hi guys, can any1 confirm whether it is possible to switch the console ON via the remote?

Stupid Q perhaps, but reason is, I'm having ps 2 in car, now I want to install in in the boot rather. I I know you need to press the on button on the console before it will start up. So if the remote can accomplish that it would work nice
 
Simple solution: employ a leprechaun like hornswaggle on WWE and shove him in ure boot, he'll be able to switch it on whenever you request and he'll probably work as well that monkey i have in my coffee machine :D

I do have a solution and i have been working on it for you,but remember i am gonna have to break the seal on the ps2.If you really want to switch it on by remote,i can do it ,will have to build a circuit for you.

seems like a process, to just get a flippen button. I think I'll just have to place the console somewhere else.:(
 
Why not attach a servo to the front of the ps2? Press a button up front and it switches on the unit. You can probably get one from any hobby shop where they sell remote control vehicles.

You're also going to need to extend the infrared receiver into the cabin of the car.
