PS3 Compatibility

I currently own a PS2 and I'm considering buying a PS3, mainly because it's recommended (on this site!) as an awesome Blu-Ray player.
Will I be able to use my PS2 games in the PS3 console?
Does the PS3 come with a remote control, for easier use when watching Blu-Ray disks?
Anything else I should keep in mind?
I've recently bought a full HD LCD tv and I'm anxious to start watching stuff in improved display...

Cheap HDMI cable is just as good as the expensive rubbish. Dont fall for the marketing ploys

1st gen PS/3 plays PS/2 games. So maybe look for a 2nd hand unit.

You can often pick up the Blu-ray remote with another controller for quite a good price, usually from Hi-Fi.

You can get just the controller for R185 from BT Games if your not interested in a 2nd controller or do not have the cash.

Awesome. Just googled it and only if your plugged in via HDMI, but then again why would you not.

Rather not. But once you've played PS3 games you won't wanna go back to PS2.

But more importantly, the newer PS3 Slim is much more power efficient because of the newer improved design.

Very nice TV!

You can use your PS3 controller as remote control for DVDs, no need to splash out more cash for a dedicated remote....and once you pop in a game, then the controller will be on the table in front of the TV in any case.
