PS3 Hacked!

This will make buying a PS3 Phat worthwhile for me :D
 
so what does this mean exactly? what can now be done to make it great? :) curious cause i got a ps3 phat :)
 
I reckon there will be a softmod/chip out within the next few months.

Mamba1: It means you will be able to make copies of games if your into that. Or you will be able to backup your originals in case your kids scratch them ;)

will this work on both ps3 slim and phat???

piracy is a sin :whistle: think il just copy so my originals dont get, uhm, scratched!:D
 
It also means that you could play PC games on your PS3 :)
 
I think I'm gonna try stick to original with this. The games I currently have have been worth the money and the developers deserve it :)
 
I did this with my Xbox a while ago. It was all fine when my console got banned, because it is relatively cheap to find a new one. The PS3 on the other hand is a bit more expensive. I personally wouldnt do this to my PS3.

The hack will allow homebrew, unrestricted linux and the use of backups. That is what it will allow but that doesnt mean it will happen any time soon, just that its possible.
 
What will be interesting is if this will have any impact on the price of blank bluray discs and the recorders.

Good point. That and I think the PS3 sales in 2010 will be amazing. If the new PS3's can do this, that is.
