Yes another sore point. The OP wanted to know about PS3 hardware cost. He was immediately inundated with fanboi trolling he did not ask for, especially from the XBoxbots. When others then refute the claims with facts it becomes another sick thread like the PS3/Xbox where all you can do, as can be see in this thread, is to resort to the use derogative comments and remarks.
Please note:
The PS3 hardware includes a BD drive, and so much more, so it seems to me its relevant information and thus it is You that have to go back to your Kage.

Actually, that's where you look like a complete toss judging the entire threads content based on the title. In fact the OP asked a lot mroe than that which we we answering as asked. You didn't even read the content of the OP.

I'm purely interested in which console will actually surpass the other's lifespan and least need an upgrade in the next 3-5 years.

Aha, so all the 'tardy comments about the facts posted about the PS3, you could not refute, was not so inane at all as he did ask about the hardware. Just asking as it seems you do not really know what to say apart from the fact that the Xbox can only play games, some better than the PS3. The rest is too much of a sore point. So we can see who did the trolling and who posted relevant facts about the PS3 hardware.

Also the OP stated his mind was made up! So that was the actual sore point.
