DLNA is a set of network standards supported by over 36 companies of which Microsoft and Sony are both founding members. As a matter of protocol DLNA is the basis for TVersity, wmp11, orb and every other media streaming application. So saying it's a Sony advantage is just plain doff.

Now I just wonder who is dof. I never claimed it is a Sony Advantage only and I know everyone is using it to share media and information. The difference is that with the PS3 you do not need to do it as you need to do it with an Xbox as the PS3 could be a proper server as shown in the diagram I presented. The Xbox is just too weak to act as a decent server in itself. With the BotBox you need a PC to do the work for you. If you read all the posts and follow the story line or context you can clearly see the bots claim to use it for streaming the codec that the Xbox cannot muster, and there is many, using Tversity as a on the fly transcoderr. But I am sure you are too clever to read a thread in context therefore the constant neckjerks I see coming through.

And there are actually very few codecs missing from the XBox 360. Unless you're using Matroska (which is such a well know format) :rolleyes:

Yes, and they serve well as synonym to Bots method of debating and presenting "facts" There is a huge tendency for the BotBox fanbois to ignore the real facts and bombard others seeking information with rubbish info and when its refuted they start using insults. We are used to it so it makes no difference. The Bots never follow a context or storyline. Just jump in with a lot of garbage posts to bring the post count up. Luckily there is others reading these posts and take note of the responses and also realize is just a group of fanbois blowing wind. The Bots responses as answer to any presented facts are always degenerated in their comments to what it's worth namely absolute nothing but a responsive neckjerk. That is to present themselves to others as so very clever therefore the oversized ego's. :D

Why not refute the facts as presented?

Yeah, thats another required addition to make the Xbox work like a proper media device. Look at the presented links a few posts back where it shows clearly what the Xbox cannot do. The one where the Author even said it is akin to a Jet trying to take off!

Listen here, you obviously have fnuck all idea what you're talking about. I own an XBox 360 and am well aware of what it can and can't do. And it can do so pretty amazing things. And no, I don't have all day to read your Google links.

Maybe the author, like you, doesn't actually own a console and he should also STFU.

I think it is important to point out that FnuckNut does not own any current-gen console.
His posts does not deserve any merit other than it seems to be decently constructed sentences and in basic English but as previous posts can prove, even that is temporary.

Look back and see that when any OP start a thread asking information or advise about consoles in any PS3/Xbox thread the usual Bots arrive in droves giving one sided information refuting and bashing any information given regards to the PS3 even against their own better judgement. As soon as the same few realize there is real facts posted regards to the PS3 they degenerate the thread into what all PS3/Xbox threads generate into. A huge farce filled with derogative comments and references

The simplest breakdown of all the facts is this. The Xbox is a very capable games console. That all. As media device or Media center or anything else it is just not up to the technological standard the PS3 prove to be. That is on all grounds. So yeah the bots is right the BotBox is the best console but then the PS3 is so much more and beyond.

So read all those links when you have time just to reassure yourself of the true facts alluring to the same. Even my Basic English cannot dispute that fact.

The PS3 is okay at playing BD but not much else. Thats a fact. Oh wait, no it isn't because making wildly speculative comments does not make for an argument. So no, you did not post facts but merely a clearly very uninformed opinion.

Its like arguing about the colour of the sea when you've only ever seen it in a magazine.

Network oriented > Monolithic bathtub.

I know many people with multiple 360's in their homes. Lounge, bedrooms, study etc etc, with all media stored on a central PC, and at R1800 each, it's a cheap way of spreading your media to all the devices/TV's/HiFi's in the house.

I know no one who'd ever even consider buying two PS3's.

Many posters stated here that the PS3 and the Xbox is on par with gaming with the BotBox having a slight but temporary lead with some ported games regards to pixels and frame rates. Then it can do all the other things you so wish to ignore and at the same time wish the XBotBox could do, gathering information from old Bots posts.

What the bots want
Aspire a BD player for the BotBox
Play proper HD content and DVD's
Have decent sound
Act as proper media device
Then there is the point of running codec’s natively (hardware)
Hard drive size, easy DIY upgrade.
Memory

Also
Have the Looks of a media device (Xbox = Impossible. That fugly white thing)
The noise (Sounds like a jet engine) LOL
Can run Linux natively (another life for the PS3 when upgrading to PS4)
Can be updated with firmware to new standards (Like DTS HD master sound)
Lifespan of 10 Years overlapping with the PS4.
Have the capacity to develop and improve for many more years

Let’s look at old Bot arguments
Who needs a bigger drive?
Who needs a BD PLAYER?
Who needs a Media center?
Who needs more memory?
We only need a games console NOTHING more
The PS3 is overpriced (Including with BD drive) YET to get the Xbox to act to some degree or level of improved standards, that the PS3 do all in one inherently, you need to purchase additionally all the extras making it then more expensive than the PS3.

The ‘tardy comment to suss the mind is then always “At least we had a choice.”
I agree. You had choices and chose the cheapest. But for only a games console at least, for now, we agree. You made the best choice then. In future, we will see. Only time will tell.
