Hi guys

I have a quick question. I have old tv, that only has like a red and white port at the back.

My ps3 was connected on my other tv via HDMI.

I tried to plug in the ps3 via the red, white and yellow, except for the yellow being in. However, I'm getting no picture. I've tried to reset the PS3 by holding the power button, but still no picture.

Is there a specific cable I need to get, or another setting I'm missing, or will this not work on this tv with only a white and red port

Isn't the red and white audio channels and the yellow video? Maybe your tv doesn't support it.

Do you use other cables from the video machine to the television?

I thought you said your television doesn't have a yellow connector.

You would also have to reset your ps3 graphics.
As it has saved the hdmi configuration.

Would I have to plug in back into the other tv, and then go to settings and change from hdmi to these cable connections?

No. Ps3 off. Press and hold the power button in, till you hear 2 beeps. It will go into save move.
Loads of instructions on the net that can help.

I did that already see OP, still nothing. So I'm either going to assume my cables are faulty, or there is something else that is not right.

You are talking about Composite RCA connections I assume.

Red and white are for audio channels (left and right)

There should be a yellow port as well, that's video. If you don't plug the yellow connector in somewhere you will never get video.

And if reset doesn't work, plug it back via HDMI and change the setting to composite.

I read the OP again. Looks like you didn't plug in the yellow cable. Are you maybe getting the colours on the TV confused? Maybe it has YELLOW and red. The yellow has to be there, that's the video channel.

Edit: Plug the yellow connector from the PS3 into the "white"port on the TV.

Yeh apologies, it is yellow and white. Says audio in and audio out, video in and video out. Apologies Lara as well :O
Still no picture, so wil have to try and reset via the other tv to composite and then see what happens. I must admit, I have only used HDMI, but I scratched this old tv out of the garage so my son can use it in his room, while I use the other tv.so no idea either if the cables are in working condition either

If in doubt, try the cables from the DVD player since you know they work.

Is that possible,? The end from the ps3 doesn't have the red, white and yellow. Only the other end that goes into the tv. Very confusing :D

My PS3 (phat model) had a breakout cable for composite.

Seems I'm wrong:
