No! but we can point you to the article where Sony recenly stated they managed to cut the cost of hardware manufacture by 70% ie the slim in the making. So just google and thou shalt find.

All "Staff Reporter" has done after lifting this article off the internet was to add the R800 and R2400. Note to "Staff Reporter" - This is the US holiday season, so you should have cut that part too...

why would anyone buy the current 80gig version, when the new slimmer 120gig version will be out soon? does not make sense.

if they have managed to cut the cost of manufactering the PS3 by 70%, sony should go into politics! thats an unbelievable percentage!

i got the 60gb - the price will never be R2400 - the slim will be more like R3600 and the current models will go for around R3400.

When it comes to games consoles, $1 = R10 usually. So the price will go down by R1000 to R3999.

This is good news but I still see something happening for xmas. The current 80gig PS3 has proven to be reliable. If the price cut is not an incentive to get one, shouldn't the games coming out be??
I don't know how reliable the slim will be. PS3 is a powerful machine and shrinking it can bring about heating problems. Maybe wait until they bring out the 2nd generation slim to be safe.
