PS3 Price Dropping!!

If I wanted to know where I could get a cheap xbox 360 from I would ask.

ke?

Afaik with the ps3 there's no monthly fees for playing online. With the 360 you need to subscribe and you need to use an America CC or buy vouchers. Thats not on.

While there's no doubting Free is nice, you get what you pay for. Can anyone actually play GTA4 online on the PS3 yet? If you're prepared to pay R5000 for a console, and ~R600 for games, then R50 a month to play online isn't much. especially if you do it a lot. If you really want free live, it takes about 15 minutes to set up hamachi or X-Link Kai.

In reality it's easier, cheaper, more secure and more legal buying the XBL points and subs online via www.gamepointsnow.com (ZA credit cards are 100% fine) than using Xbox.com or the 360 Dash. So decrying that is just being silly.

you dont need an american cc, my sa works just fine. some games, like cod4, gears, halo3 are just not the same value without the xbox live factor.
If I didn't play multiplayer I would probably get a PS3 - though gears 2 coming november , that is enuff reason probably to get an xbox.

I know its sacrelige, but I haven't played GOW (all the cheap copies get grabbed on forums :() So I'm looking forward to the 2nd installment :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only reason to buy an xbox is if you like playing FPS gfame son a console... which I dont (have tried, multiple times - no flaming please).

other than that - is there anything else worth playing (if someone says pes 2008 - dont, coz i also play that on my pc just fine and prefer it to playing on a tv ... until i get a big one that is)

Lol Noob! ;)

Seriously though, that's just misguided. And wrong. This generation the PS3 is the platform that has mostly shooters. The 360 has a fantastic spread across all genre's including RTS, RPG's, Action games family games, music games and so much more. The catalogue is way over 350 games.

I mean just go check out there Microsoft First part announcements from today:
Ninja Gaiden II,
Gears of War 2,
Fable 2,
Too Human,
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts,
Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise,
Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One. (Love that :D )

Top line 3rd party games
GTA4
Brutal Legend,
Fallout 3,
Endwar,
Civilization revolution,
Splinter Cell: conviction
Rock Band
Velvet Assassin
Star wars: Force unleashed

Then there's the awesome back catalogue, I don't even know where to start,
Devil May Cry 4,
Crackdown,
Dead Rising,
Overlord,
Eternal Sonata,
Guitar Hero

Jeepers I don't have time to go on. Not one of the games mentioned is an FPS. And that's completely ignoring Racing Games and Sports Games.

I advise you head over to metacritic and check out the list.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/xbox360/scores/

Then head over to IGN and see what's coming up

Me thinks u could be wrong.
my games are as follows:

Gears, Halo 3, COD4, COD3, Rainbow 6 2, FIFA08, Rapala Fishing, Assasins creed, NBA2K7, Brian Lara cricket, Forza2, Viva Pinata, Call Of Juarez
Oblivion, GTAIV, MOTOGP 06, superman returns

So ok, a few FPS games, but a multitude of others.
Games I traded because either I finished or didn't like include: crackdown, st rows, orange box, fear, mass effect, bioshock, Transformers, top spin

The thing is, there is more than enough games, and there is a very active game trade amongst players.

@ Doobiwan - GTA 4 is playable on PSN. I've been online since launch. I did however hear a handful of people that couldn't connect but thats been sorted out. Local GTA games as well as International games are pretty much lag free.

I still need to complete GTA but i get pulled into the online world everytime someone sends me a SMS online invite :)

@fxit_man

If you don't mind 2nd hand have a look at www.bidorbuy.co.za. You might be lucky to get a 60GB model that has backward-compatibility with PS2 games (assuming you have titles gathering dust).
