Iv heard of cases where discs get scratched when the console is moved around while the disc is spinning.

I swear to never buy anything Microsoft. How can I play copied games on this piece of crap? There's no way I'm paying R500 for a new copy of Forza!

Found Forza on usenet, now I need a guide on how to get it working on my 360. I won't even bother playing on Live anymore.

Yup, the sticker is there. So now he hates Microsoft cos even though the sticker says DO NOT MOVE, it scratched his disk.

Go buy a PS3 and move it around while the disk is spinning. Are you going to hate Sony then? :D

P1ss off! Don't you understand the meaning of accidental?

The thing moved slightly, very slightly. If I can move my R700 DVD player without scratching the disc, why can't I move my expensive 360? I didn't even mean to move the damn thing.

Hmmm...well the expensive 360 would have more parts that can go wrong. :D
But just call Mi Digital at 011 723 1800 and see if the discs are under that warranty still.

And guys maybe his 360 is one of the 360's that does not have the relevant mechanism that holds discs securely.
Call Mi Digital and see if they can replace your console due to the scartches, you might have one of the faulty ones.

DarkDenim don't blame MS if you moved the console, no matter how accidently and if you move your R700 dvd player then I would surely advise you not to do it with a disc in there, it might scratch the disc also.

I just thought that it would have been one of those things you don't do, like sticking your finger in a socket.

Does Microsoft pay you for this??

Microsoft has an international disc replacement policy on games it publishes (like Forza) You send them the discs (or 90% thereof!!!) And they'll replace it.

There's been issues with getting MI to fulfill the policy, but worst case scenario you send the disks to the UK, you're still only paying R100 shipping for the replacements as oppossed to forking out for the whole thing again.

Alternatively I have a copy of Forza to sell, R200 if you're interested.

Fair enough, it was my fault. I'm going to flash my drive this weekend and backup my games and...

I accidentally moved my console while I was playing a game, then it made a sound similar to this... "ssssscccccrrrrrttttttcccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" for about 5 seconds. Now every time I want to play a game on my 360 I have to power up the console WITH NO DISC INSERTED, otherwise it scratches it. When it reaches the dashboard, then I can insert the game I want to play. I have also noticed games that are scratched still works perfectly fine on my 360, but it does not work on my frends 360 that does not have this scratching problem.

@the ppl with the scratched disks.

just contact m$ and Midigital - they may be able to either change your disk or your console.
AFAIK if you have a scratched disk you can get it changed, you won't have to fork our another R590 - especially if the scratches are circular like you say, and not from bad handling.

don't flash your xbox, you will just brick it for live.

Oh, if you have scratches you can also get your discs polished.

I don't know who does it in Joburg, but there's a guy down in Cape Town in Tokai that does it and it works a treat.
