Imagine a controller that makes you want to buy the entire console. LoL

I think there is lots of reason to buy both (and I have). I also have a fairly top noth gaming PC. OK, there is a financial consideration involved, but not that hectic. Also, think of it this way. I bought my PS3 a year and a half after my 360. Total cost of around R7000 over 18 months. Thats less than R400 a month. OK it excludes accessories, games, beer etc. My HDTV cost me three times more than that. If you can't afford to blow R3k - R4k a year on hardware maybe you need another hobby.

As much as we love to hear about how much you spent on hardware, I said two, not both. That is why people are buying the PS3 because they already own an Xbox 360; as such they are not going to buy another Xbox 360 (i.e. two).

XBOX 360 atm is winning the console war, its going to come down to the PS3's pure processing power and bluray that imo will make the console better than the xbox.

You know what? If I buy a Bluray player, I can watch Bluray movies! As for the cell processor, it is bottlenecked by a lack of imagination with regard to bus size restrictions. As such all the hype about the processor has provided no visual evidence that it is any better.

I live in the UK, and many many people are starting to trade their 360's in for PS3's. Latest releases here are all the same price.
Take it or leave it, I bought myself a PS3, I knew I was buying into a console that will last me a long time (DVD will be the downfall of the 360, HD content and games are getting bigger and bigger, even GTA IV they battled with the DVD restrictions for the 360)

I hate to be Captain Obvious here, but what if, just think about it, you used more than one disc?

GTA IV is only 6 gigs so how on earth could they have battled to fit it on a DVD ! its all just rumours to degrade the 360 ! PGR 4 before it came out the same rumour floated around, with assasins creed the same ! Look at Crysis its the most graphical intensive game with extremely big textures and that fitted on a DVD so this whole bluray vs dvd debate is null and void.

And even if it was a problem you could just use two discs. Its hardly rocket science. However, the overall size of the game is a testament to the employment of good programmers at Rockstar. Sony is going to see some very sloppy coding no their exclusive games as people won't give a damn about the overall size; as such performance is going to degrade.

Time will only tell, developers will learn to make games better and better ,utilising the processor.

We are talking about people you buy the consoles, the majority of people would prefer having one disk, imagine if you had to change disks to be able to play a game multiplayer, and think of it on a business level, 2 disks means 2 people can play at once, now they dont want that, because then everyone would just be sharing games

This we have discussed ad nauseum. Would people really prefer to only use on disc if they had to pay an extra R3000 for the priviledge? And no, 2 discs hardly mean 2 people can play at once. Once disc could be the multiplay game, one the single play. Or indeed certain areas, such as various cities in GTA IV could require different discs and it would become very difficult for two people to use one set of discs at a time. Even if the discs were based on a linear progression, you would still (initially) require the first disc to get to the second and should a second person play this is merely tantamount to you lending a game to your buddy once you've completed it - a practice that is totally legal.

100% TG.

People don't care that much about multiple discs to make it a deal breaker. In fact some of the greatest games (FF7, 8 & 9, GT2) Were multiple discs and it didn't exactly hurt their sales now did it?

Shot for the examples. And we note that it didn't hurt Sony's sales - why should Microsoft now be any different? So for some people Bluray might be the deal breaker, but for most its an unnecessary cost when purchasing what is essentially a gaming console.

Bah!! You Kids of today.

I remember back in the day when games came on up to 24 1.2mb Floppy disks. Think I'll survive with two DVDs even if it means getting out of my rocking chair occasionally.

;) :)

Oh yes, but I remember Heroe's Quest on 10 x 5 1/2 inch floppies! That 286 was state of the art gamin in those days!

I now hate the XBox 360! Damn thing just scratched my Forza disc and made it useless  I can't believe I believed in a Microsoft product. What a piece of crap!

Scratched it? A laser cannot scratch a disc. How did it scratch it?
